16-year-old teenager died after being hit by a car in the early hours of Thursday (13). The accident happened at the intersection of the Turiano Meira lane with Brasília avenue, in the Santíssimo neighborhood, in Santarém, western Pará.
The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called around 2:50 am by people to help the teenager who had been run over.
According to information from the nurse and Samu coordinator, Joziel Colares, the teenager was intubated while still in the ambulance and sent to the stabilization room at the Municipal Emergency Room (PSM).
The victim arrived alive at the PSM. The medical team on duty performed all the necessary procedures to save the teenager, but she succumbed to her injuries and died in the operating room.
A friend of the teenager informed Samu's nurses that minutes before the accident the victim had argued with her mother over the phone.
The case is being investigated by the police, and an expertise must be made to clarify the case.
