Renzo Zorzi's car suffered an engine fire caused by a split pipe and stalled on the side of the road. Two race marshals (Fredrik Jansen Van Vuuren and his fellow colleague who has not been named) ran across the track. Fredrik Jansen Van Vuuren was hit by Tom Pyrce and was sliced in half. After Tom Pyrce hit Fredrik, the fire extinguisher Fredrik was holding literally flew and hit Tom Pyrce. As a result, Tom's skull was fatally broken and he died instantly. His helmet strap then broke, partially decapitating Tom.

Forgot to add some context. Off-camera there is another car that swerved to avoid Fredrik. The car behind that other car was Tom Pyrce. Tom didn't realize Fredrik was running on the track, and by then, it was too late to swerve as well. Tom tailgated his way to heaven
