Highways aren't that great plus many of those guys driving big trailers have really shitty time limits on the job so, in order to meet them they get high as fuck and drive recklessly. This kind of accidents happen more often than not all across Mexico.

All of Michoacán? My house is at the south east border, near Estado de Mexico. Last time I went there (2 years ago) I talked to some neighbors and was told that at least where they live it was "safe".
