My dad had dementia and one of the first things we did when he was diagnosed was taking his car keys. He'd for sure would have caused an accident if we wouldn't have taken his keys back then. Don't know if they take your license away here with that diagnosis but we asked the doctor to tell him he shouldn't be driving anyway so we could take his keys without too much hassle.

Thanks, he died two years ago and I agree it's a horrible decease indeed. It's like you're slowly saying goodbye when seeing how they get worse and worse and become a different person. I have massive respect for anyone who works with people with dementia

I don't consider the US bad far from it. As far as superpowers go the US is a rarity for being 'a good partner*' towards its allies and the fact that as a state are not afraid to invest a lot of money in the countries they have beaten and occupied makes the US a benevolent warmonger.
The people however, they are stupid in ways that cannot be reasonably explained without writing whole encyclopedias in the ways they are scammed by their government, their politicians and corporations of all categories and sizes.
*Good partner for as long as you buy stuff from them. Others (like the brits) would watch you starve in a famine they fabricated and would want you to thank them for the privilege of them owning you.

maybe unpopular opinion but I’ve always felt like after age 65 people need to start retaking their driving tests every so often. those fuckers just cannot drive. but I’m also just incredibly agist and hate old people with a burning passion
