On March 24, sources reported that a domestic athlete had a serious accident leading to death at a paragliding tournament taking place in Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province.Accordingly, while preparing to land on an empty lot at the end of the competition, the paraglider of the male athlete from Hanoi suddenly twisted, causing him to fall from above to the ground.

The Kon Tum paragliding tournament expands the theme "Discovering the great forest - Sa Thay 2024" organized by the People's Committee of Sa Thay district and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province.
This is the third time the tournament has been hosted by this locality. This year's tournament attracted 130 domestic and international paragliding pilots.
At the opening ceremony on March 22, Mr. Duong Quang Phuc - Chairman of Sa Thay District People's Committee, said that this district is aiming to become a national paragliding destination when continuously hosting this type of sport. .

Yeah must have been a weird angle we saw the accident from. It honestly didn't look that bad. I mean I don't have room to talk as I'm no professional at hitting the ground from 40 feet up, but for realz didn't look like that hard of a hit. Funny how sometimes a video leaves us thinking “man I can't believe what the human body can take” and others can make ya think “reallly? Is that all it takes?”

You know sometimes how little you need to get hit at an exactly the right place and you are done. People die from being hit and bump their head on the ground falling, so if this guy hit his head it is completely normal. Unlucky for sure, the gust of wind really made his chances of survival considerably higher and I expected a broken bone here or there, but he was just unlucky
