Trans people are unfortunately very likely to end up like this, not just in developing countries but also in the supposed "civilized" parts of the world. I know it's hard for people to understand what these people are going through, but the fact that they're so often subjected to harassment, assault and murder is frankly disgusting. Why?

This is because transgender people are often atomized and isolated. When one is rejected by their coevals, relatives and even immediate family one can find no community. It is isolated, sad and lonely people who most often take their own lives. It is the same reason that the suicide rate in Japan exceeds many developing nations.
Transgender suicide is not an entirely internal problem but an external problem. They find less gainful employment than their peers, are more likely to be homeless, are more often sexually assaulted and harassed, are more likely to be killed. I could go on. I do not think transgenders' mental illness has full explanatory power when it comes to their suicidality as it would not explain why they are more likely to be discriminated against in certain ways like being raped or assaulted.

This all clearly points to transgenderism being a severe mental illness, why do you pretend otherwise?

Tch, you think that "letting the other person know of your peepee" is the big issue here? Sure if you engage in a deeper relationship with someone without revealing your true gender, physical or otherwise, that's an issue. But even then, getting killed over your own identity is unfair. You can't help the person you were born as, no matter your gender or sexuality, and so it seems unreasonable that you should be killed because of it.
And if you think that trans people actively try to decieve people about their gender, you've got bigger problems than I can help you with. I'd advice you to seek out your nearest LGBTQ-outlet to get your facts straight, no pun intended.
