Happend in china, wearing masks is very common, even before the pandemic. This was in December so i assume they wore one to avoid getting sick.

People in really densely populated areas like China, India or Japan have been wearing masks for a LONG time, especially when theyre sick, some south east Asian countries wear masks just because of bad air quality
