Caught edge of road , maybe animal ran out. Stupid. Never ever swerve to avoid an animal. Hit the damn thing. Your life or other drivers life much more important. My sons best friend lost his dad because a dump truck driver swerved to avoid a fucking dumbass turkey. Dad dead, driver ok minor injuries, turkey just fucking fine.

There's one exception to this: a moose. You do not wanna hit a moose.

I’ve always heard that if you think you’re gonna hit a moose, floor it.. so the moose doesn’t fall directly into the car. Is that true?

No it's a myth. Mythbusters actually did a video on it: Couldn't find a better source

no, the if you floor it the moos will land on the car, if you go normal speed the car will land on the moose, and if you swerve or break you will be fine, unless you go off a cliff....

Only one exception? What about a hippo or an elephant?

If you watched the aftermath video, the indention in the side is clearly indicative of being t-boned. I'm just amazed they died so swiftly. This wasn't even gorey or messy, just ... gone.

That is the stupid shit when people can buy their driver license for under 100$. We in Germany pay a lot for a driver license (today it's around 1.5k - 2.5k €) but that includes around 10 -14 hours of lessons and you also need to graduate a first aid course, multiple hours of driving and an strict test on the computer. And in the lessons they always say to hold the steering wheel straight on animal obstacles

You will surely appreciate the common sense of german drivers (in majority), but I can also say that all the thousands of traffic rules will drive you nuts. I wish you good luck on your way :marseyflaggermany:

We have almost same thing in Latvia 1.5k-2k euro to get drivers license too, but our salaries way 2 smaller, anyway we have 1 theory test at driving school, then 1 theory test at country institution. We have to pass driving school practical exam, and also practical exam at country institution, same thing with first aid course. I think that is how we should learn how to drive. So many imbeciles everywhere on the road
