Bus schedules operate on an impossibly tight timetable because management fucks think it's totally gonna pay off if they shorten the route by shaving off a few seconds here and there of a time to reach. Drivers skirt because an asshole car will shave precious seconds off their route and if they follow rules they will get reprimanded or lose wages because they're late. I can only imagine that in the shithole China this is amplified by 10 because their personel is expendable and their whole culture will make this worse.

There was a video on YouTube I think it was called crossing the road in Cambodia. People walking like it's a crosswalk across a busy road with 4 plus lanes of traffic going at least 30 mph. Pedestrians just walk at a steady pace and the drivers time it so it barely slows the flow. They don't have time to even stop! Was crazy efficient though.

I think the drivers are obligated to open the door at each stop for at least a second or two, just according to policy. That's how my local busses work. If no one stands up to get off, they close pretty quick.
If he did accidentally close the door, I don't know why he immediately started accelerating away.

I meant with "used the door button by mistake" that he also opened it for a second time and than closed it immediately. In Germany the doors often not open when no passanger is pressing the stop button before arriving at the next bus stop, or maybe the girl pushed the button in the last seconds, where the bus driver thought that no one will get out at this bus stop.
