it doesn't matter how terrible of a thing you do, no kid growing up in a loving family is ever going to think to kill themselves rather than face their parents. Girl looks like she's 12 at the oldest.

Accidentally shot the kid, in a moment of pure panic decided to shoot herself as well rather than face her parents. That's what I got out of this.
I came from a family that wasn't physically abusive but certainly wasn't a place that made you feel safe, and I can absolutely imagine a series of events that would have led me to kill myself to escape the reaction or punishment of my parents.

Honestly I don't think she feared her parents, I believe I would have done the same. She already knew should couldn't overcome her own sense of guilt, that's what made her act so quickly. She immediately realized she could never forgive herself for that fatal shot.
