The reason why drunks survive car crashes more often is because their body is more relaxed and doesn't tense up before the crash happens(slow reaction time due to alcohol) on the other hand people who are sober will tense up because they got a way faster reaction, this will result in a higher chance to receive serious injury.

I think more it's cuz just before moment of impact, they swerve this way or that way, and the hard impact is on the passenger side or whatnot, any side but their side. Like the oncoming vehicle is heading straight for them, or the pole is fast approaching, or that concrete wall is loomin bigger and closer, and normal instincts is to swerve.

No I don’t drink alcohol a car ran into me and I remembered what I got told about how drunk drivers are more relaxed so they’re more likely to survive so instead of tensing up I relaxed
