The first murder happened in August 1977 when a body had been found at the marina.

At the marina they discovered the body of a female who had been severely beaten (autopsy showed she had endured 81 traumas). A witness was woken during the night due to noises that sounded like metal being beaten. She also thought she heard a child but it turned out to be a woman crying and moaning. she also heard sexual noises. She also heard someone telling the person to stop as the woman was dead now.

Then she heard car doors slamming and driving off. she didn't call the police but came forward when she heard of the body being found.

The body was found nude. She had been strangled. Her inner thighs were bruised because the killer used a blunt instrument to rape her. Her left arm had been completely broken.

A piece of rebar type weapon was found near the body that matched the wounds. it was a pipe with a rebar that was used as the main weapon. The killer left impressions of the tyres at the crime scene and some yellow type substance. He also hit a post with his car. The evidence left at the scene was enough to convict the person if found.

Other evidence was a woman who had seen a man beating a woman and forcing her into a car. the woman had dropped her handbag and her purse identified her as a known prostitute. the fingerprints off her own criminal rap sheet matched the victim found.

In the previous month of July 1977 another woman had been viciously murdered in the Washington state area. her body was found on a local construction site. She had suffered a massive trauma from beatings and her skull had been crushed as well as being strangled. the killer then posed her to cause shock to anyone finding her. her skirt was pulled up over her body and over her face, her shirt had been ripped open. She was identified by her belongings in her purse. She was also a prostitute.

The murder happened in 2 different jurisdictions but both detectives working the cases decided to work together on them.

The killer was quickly caught as a gas station attendant that serviced the offenders car noticed several weird things with it and the owner. First the man was all bloody and went to wash off in the restroom and the tail lights were broken from the inside (broken by one of the victims) The attendant later saw press on the news of the offence and in detail described the offender and the car. Police then searched the restroom finding blood and hair that matched one of the victims.

The car appeared to belong to one of the victims, this was proved when searching one of the victim's home. they also found that one of the victim's child had been handed over to social services when the mother failed to show up. they then knew what type of car they were looking for. all types of these cars were then watched for carefully and in the middle of August 2 police followed a suspicious car. when the driver committed a driving offense they pulled him over. They found damage to the car that fit the description and compared the driver to a drawn up picture, they had their guy.

The car was hauled in and examined by crime technicians, they collected massive amounts of evidence. the spongy yellow substance found at the scene was also in the trunk and one of the victim's blood was found. Both victim's blood was discovered in the car and there was damage to the paint work which matched where the driver crashed at the marina.

Morris Frampton was sentenced to death but after an appeal he was sentenced to life. with DNA improvements, just a few years ago, it was found he previously killed a woman in 1976 so his chance of parole was revoked.
