Sloth bears are actually some of the most interesting animals behavior wise. 95% of their diet consists of termites and ants but they are by far the most deadly bear, with 40+ fatalities occurring in a 5 year span at one point. This is because of their shared environment with tigers and leopards. A sloth bear is smaller and slower than a tiger, and to compensate for this, they’ve become very aggressive. I can go on about this but in short, sloth bear can risk injury because ants aren’t very hard to eat, meanwhile tiger can’t because broken toe can mean death by starvation, so sloth bear doesn’t run, but fights and tries to maim tiger. This carries over to people.
