Alligator was captured and euthanized. The retirement community was then cleared of all gators. The dog named Trooper survived.

It's illegal to relocate alligators that are over 4 feet or have been fed by humans. Alligators, as well as crocodiles, will travel long distances to get back "home". The alligators are euthanized and their hide/ meat is sold. I think the only way to relocate a bigger alligator is to find an alligator rescue center that has a state permit to catch them. They do exist. LOL Not sure what the protocol is for one that kills a human.

The first 911 operator SUCKED so bad, but the fire department was the one I liked, comforted her perfectly after getting information and talking so gently and understanding. The other lady was just like WHAT???? WHAT IS YOUR ADDRESS??? HUH???? Like GIRL shut up and listen!

I hear ya. Although being that she was 85, no telling how much she's capable of being aware. I've heard some of how the brain begins to slow as people age and it scares the hell out of me.
I remember when my grandma started to first develop clear signs of dementia. I was at her house where she lived with my aunt and had other family that checked on her daily. I walked passed her car in the garage and noticed all the dings and dents in it. Thankfully, she had kids that gave a shit and noticed she was having issues and stopped her from driving and took care of her. Not everyone has that.
