Story: There are two version as to what happened

a. The tourist was scammed and his bill was dubiously padded, he tried to dispute it and the physical altercation ensued

b. The tourist punched a woman while refusing to pay for his friend who dashed

either way it's fucked up

edit: Supposedly there is a CCTV clip from inside the bar, which confirms the first story, in which the tourist was scammed, but I can't personally confirm it as the forum is hidden behind an account. https://forum.pattaya-addicts.com/topic/378373-ouch-ting-tong-falangs-get-smoked-on-soi-6/page/11/

Reminds me of going to a bar/restaurant/nightclub on a first date, and the waitress appeared pissed off that we weren't buying enough drinks, or maybe not tipping enough - and the fucking scammer claimed that I only gave her a $10 bill when I gave her a $20 - and she ripped me off for proper change.

The dispute RUINED the first date.

I (obviously) don't know what happened here, but the first thing is one of the most common scams in Thailand when it comes to tourists and go-go bars. It's also pretty common knowledge that if it happens to you you should just pay the bill, leave, and don't go back. The Thais will always stick together and the cops will not give a single shit if the bouncers beat a tourists ass, especially if they say you did something like punched a Thai girl first.
