Per Yngve "Pelle" Ohlin AKA "Dead" was the lead singer of the Norwegian band Mayhem. He killed himself on 8 April 1991 by shooting himself in the head with a shotgun. When the guitarist of the band found his body, he rearranged the scene then took multiple pictures and one of them was later used for the cover of their bootleg album "Dawn of the Black Hearts"

It's not worth it people. Coming from someone who has claim to the real deal "shotgun shell was a dud" cliche after my time in the military? Living to the day the world (or god if you're religious) decides it's your time is worth it. Ultimately it is YOUR choice, and it's honestly the bravest thing one could do. This message is self argumentative, I know but it's true. Only the bravest pull the trigger.

A brain stem is the part of the brain that connects the brain and the spinal cord. It controls the most basic parts of human functioning such as breathing and heart rate and without a functioning brain stem the human body cannot survive because the most basic parts of what make you alive no longer exist. You wouldn't feel anything because the bullet or buckshot would pass through the brain stem so quickly that the body wouldn't have time to register the pain response before the brainstem and therefore the ability to register pain was completely destroyed.
