Reminds me of the evasive and dishonest act of people who “don’t like labels” and don’t want to associate with any particular ideology. This is usually said by people who adhere to explicitly anti-humanist ideologies, namely socialism, fascism, Nazism (but I repeat myself) and who have good reason to not want their ideology explicitly named.
Some people think that if you pretend something didn’t happen or doesn’t exist long and hard enough then it really didn’t happen and it really doesn't exist.

But why is the last year of the wars effort to starve europe memory holed? I mean we all know that allied bomber command brought European food distribution to a halt.

But that was 20 years ago, nobody says they "don't like labels" anymore. Everyone wears their ideology on their sleeves at this point. Marxists proudly declare their beliefs, look at BLM and its mission statement back before the 4 mansions and info scrubbing. I honestly miss the "don't label me" times. With all the racial bullshit and hundreds of sexualities and genders being categorized on a spectrum and organized into identifying labels to proudly be displayed on the streets as if every one should care about all your unique identities, to the point that the communities within those groups fight among each other. Growing up, the right and left divide felt so much smaller, so much less important.. or at least people were more agreeable. Its like a switch went off in a bunch of people's heads that make them either 1 or 11 at all times and its ever-so-important that we split up and figure out whose our enemies any given day.
I just feel like labels promote tribalism.

These are the kinds of videos my late grandmother used to show me after nursery from the of 3/4. She was a Polish concentration camp survivor. Her crime? Being a Jew. I guess she bore witness to some of the most disgutong history and simply felt the need to make sure nobody forgot what happened to our family. Some scenes, she would say 'they could be your great-grandparents, you never know.' This is what led to my desensitization. She definitely had undiagnosed mental health issues and struggled with what we now assume was PTSD. It was heartbreaking- she even left a packed bag in a cupboard by the front door incase she ever had to flee again , full of money, passport, jewellery to barter.
