A Russian bomb disposal expert has been killed when a bomb he was trying to defuse by hand exploded in central Moscow.

Russian media report that a woman took the bomb into a crowded restaurant in a bag and threatened to blow it up, before it was seized from her.

Security officers failed to dispose of the device by remote control and it detonated when an officer was trying to defuse it manually.

The woman has been detained and is being investigated for possible links with Chechen suicide bombers who killed 14 people at an outdoor rock concert over the weekend.

A serious incident shook the camp of the Calpa Renace mining company, located in the province of Caravelí, in the Arequipa region, Peru, where a gas cylinder explosion resulted in the injury of 19 people, including workers and kitchen staff.

Those affected were quickly evacuated to nearby health centers, such as the Camaná Hospital, attending to three urgent cases. Fortunately, no deaths were reported in the event.

Eleven people have been killed and 100 others injured after a fire broke out inside a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh's Harda. The flames triggered several explosions, sparking panic in the nearby areas.

The injured have been rushed to hospital and some of them are in a critical condition, said an official. The intensity of the blasts was such that people in the adjoining Seoni Malwa area in Narmadapuram district said they experienced tremors.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has spoken to officials and sought details about the incident. In a post on X, the Chief Minister said minister Uday Pratap Singh and senior officials are on their way to Harda. Medical colleges in Bhopal and Indore have been asked to prep for patients with burns, he said, adding that more fire engines are being rushed to the spot.

A video of the incident shows tall flames and smoke billowing from the factory. In the road next to it, people are seen fleeing in fear as the blasts ring through the air.

Fire engines have reached the spot and work is on to bring the flames under control. "The rescue operation is on. We have also called in the National Disaster Response Force," District Collector Rishi Garg said.

A factory worker, who managed to escape after the fire broke out, said about 150 workers were on the premises when the incident took place.

Four persons were killed while five others were injured in a blast and fire that hit a fireworks factory in the province of Laguna on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Friday.

In a report, the PNP-Area Police Command Southern Luzon (APC-SL) said the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the Diamond Fireworks Inc. in Barangay Bigaa, Cabuyao City.

The Cabuyao Component City Police Station, Cabuyao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Cabuyao immediately responded to the fire which was declared out shortly before 6 p.m.

Two unidentified bodies were recovered at the site, while the injured persons were rushed to various hospitals.

The police said the fatalities from the fire rose to four, after two victims who were seriously injured later died.

In a radio interview, Cabuyao CDRRMO chief Bobby Abinal Jr. said a child who was among those hurt in the fire is now in stable condition.

He said an investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the incident and conduct a damage assessment.

"Naka-cordon na po 'ýung area, andun 'yung ating kapulisan at saka 'yung CDRRMO emergency responders at binabantayan po kasi any moment, parating na 'yung aming post incident analysis team, kasama na po 'yung investigators (The area is now cordoned off.
