A 49-year-old man was killed in an explosion at a gas station in Afogados in the West Zone of Recife, this Tuesday (March 8). The outsourced employee was hurled for about ten meters. According to the Fire Department, he was cleaning a disabled gas tank when the cutting device, a sander, was used, it came into contact with the gases that were still in the fuel tank. The sander produces sparks, which would have caused the explosion.
The worker was an pump mechanic, and according to a friend and colleague by profession, he knew the job was dangerous. According to the brigade, the man had head trauma, could not resist his injuries and died on the spot.
The accident occurred around 7 AM, in a gas station located in an external area of the station located on Rua Sao Miguel. The accident did not reach the supply and customer service part of the gas station.

A 68-year-old man was killed and his 11-year-old son seriously injured after a three-wheel bike they were riding in a religious parade exploded in Macuspana, Tabasco.
The two were traveling behind a pickup truck bearing religious icons and playing music as part of a procession honoring a revered religious figure in the area, the Lord of Tila, a Christlike figure that has been revered in southeast Mexico since 1539 when his image first appeared in Chiapas.
The man was setting off fireworks when what appeared to be a bottle rocket fell back into the trike, causing a violent explosion.

This took place in Mexico. Most details surrounding this incident are unknown. However, the statues in the back of the truck are apparently synonymous with death, so, that's ironic!
What we do know for sure is that this makeshift tourniquet isn't going to be doing very much:
Using a belt as a tourniquet is VERY ineffective, and often hinders medical responders treatments simply due to getting in the way. If whatever object you're using doesn't exceed the mean arterial pressure of those you're trying to treat, it's more or less useless.
Without a tourniquet with a winding mechanism, you'll struggle to control most instances of catastrophic haemorrhage. If you know how, you're also able to create a makeshift winding tourniquet with a bit of cloth and a sturdy pen or stick. It may be worth while leaning how.
Don't waste your nice belts. Don't waste lives, either.

A pair of explosions erupted in Beirut, Lebanon creating a wave of destruction that claimed more than 150 lives and injured thousands more. The explosion was caused when dozens of bags of fireworks being kept in a factory that was housing 2,400 tons of ammonium nitrate accidentally ignited. The seismic impact of the blast was recorded hundreds of kilometres away. It levelled dozens of buildings, stretching from Beirut’s industrial waterfront to residential neighbourhoods and popular tourist districts.
