Hanging on to just a rope is actually pretty fucking hard if you don't know any techniques of quickly wrapping it around your legs or arms to create friction. Why TF would they try a rescue with just a rope? That's fucking ludicrous. Even with a rope ladder you stand a chance, but a bare rope? Most people will fall.

I was curious on that too. It seemed like they were doing the bare minimum here, I thought most rescue operations had baskets or even a harness for security so then you dont fall
