This is pretty common. I think there’s an estimated 300 corpses on Everest. There are multiple bodies on several mountains that climbers use as landmarks to know how close to the summit they are. Bringing their bodies down is expensive and dangerous, so they just leave them there. If the person dies alone, how much better are you going to fare in the same place weighed down by the body you're trying to carry?

Okay dumb question but do the bodies decompose at all? Like I know it's cold up there but do they just stay pristine forever? Do they eventually become skeletal?

Nope, they’re frozen rock solid and stay that way all year round.

If everyone who came across them just gave them a little push, they'd slowly make their way back with minimal effort by each individual. Like kicking a can down the street.

Good way to tangle some ropes, disrespect and break apart a body.

Idk seems a little ill adviced to try and tumble a person shaped ice rock down a mountain not expecting anything to go wrong?
