Happened in a village in Songming County, near Kunming, on March 8th. Boy was rescued by the villagers and survived.

As to motive, it's unclear why the girl acted this way. She and the boy are unrelated and there was no history of conflict between the families.

Poor boy was crying out for his mama (妈妈) as he dangled from the top of the well... even as he plummeted to his death, you can hear him scream for his mama before hitting the water. I believe you can faintly hear his voice a couple more times begging for his mama to come save him as he struggles to stay afloat. The little girl calls for her mom before coming back to the well to look down (around 2:00). I think she says "什么?" here which means "what?". I'm guessing she heard the boy say something.
What a cruel and twisted little girl for doing such a thing. I can only assumed the boy drowned as he looks too young to know how to swim. Rest in Peace.
