How do you suggest we could know this? Look at that place. It's not exactly the most developed part of the world and clearly nobody gives a fuck about the lives of anybody. Why else would kids be left alone to play next to an open well?

That was the village well where everybody goes to get water with a bucket for their homes or animals. This is how it used to be in most places - 500 years ago. Fun fact: in medieval wars enemies used to poison water wells by - you guessed it - throwing bodies into them.

Jesus Christ. This reminds me of the Asian lady who crawled into a water tank and died, the water supplied the hotel. People drank and bathed in that corpse water and it got so bad they finally checked.
