If the son kept good care of the kid, which seems so, why did they shoot him? Sure he held up a knife to the kid but maybe that's because he thought he could reason or something. I don't know, maybe I'm just retarded

Police must act in regards to the immediate situation in cases where there is threat of immediate harm to any one person. This is the reason why suspects are usually put in cuffs before any real discussion happens. Why a person lying riddled with bullets will be placed in cuffs before aid is given. Why it always seems like an officer is on a power trip when they give orders to people even in seemingly casual situations. Why these officers were required to not gamble on the possibility that the man was bluffing when he grabbed the knife. Any person would most likely say they wouldnt take the chance of waiting to see if the knife got any closer to the child. I know I sure wouldnt.

I see. That explained it much better than these people who just reiterate the fact I'm thick in the skull. This makes more sense

One of the many faults of the human condition as we have it in reality is that many people have an awful habbit of defining "common sense" by whatever it is that they personally know. "Well I (think I) know it so it must be common knowledge and thus anyone who doesn't know it doesnt have common sense".
