The El Paso Police Department has released body camera footage from an officer-involved shooting in the Upper El Paso Valley earlier this month.

The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on March 5, when an officer approached a vehicle parked at a car wash in the 5800 block of Donaphin Drive.

In video posted to social media on March 23, body camera shows the officer making contact with a man, whom police identified as 30-year-old Michael Anthony Estrada.

Police have released body camera video of the confrontation that led to an officer killing a suspect in New Jersey.

The shooting took place two weeks ago at a home on Amity Street in Elizabeth.

Officers were responding to a 911 call about a relative, 42-year-old Estiben Alegria-Hurtado, showing up at a home drunk and with a knife.

When police arrived at the apartment, the door was open, and Hurtado was scuffling with two other men.

The two men then released Hurtado, but the video shows he's still armed with a knife and close to a woman.

That's when an officer fired a single fatal shot, hitting Hurtado in the chest and killing him.

A woman could be heard saying repeatedly, "he tried to kill me."

Police are now under fire for not calling a mental health professional to help cool down the confrontation.

The shooting death of Hurtado was too raw and gut-wrenching for the family to process.

The family's spokesman said on Monday that the gunshot was unnecessary.

"In that video, it was not given any kind of command for Steven to drop the knife, it was not given any kind of command for police officers to identify themselves," civil rights activist Rev. Kevin McCall said.

No charges have been filed against the officers involved in the shooting, so far.

The New Jersey Attorney General's Office is currently investigating.

guy dies after getting obliterated by suv

more info -

Shocking body cam video captured the moment a Colorado cop tased a fleeing man after a traffic stop — who then fell across the lanes of a busy highway, where he was fatally struck by a passing SUV.

Deputy Lorenzo Lujan stopped Brent Allen Thompson, 28, about 9 p.m. Feb. 18 near a hotel off Interstate 25 in Larimer County when he noticed that his Ford Fusion had expired tags, 9 News reported.

But Thompson got onto northbound I-25 and Lujan followed him until the driver stopped near the Mountain Vista Drive exit, according to the outlet, which cited a letter by District Attorney Gordon McLaughlin.

Thompson, of Loveland, identified himself as “Jacob Jones,” but the deputy – who was joined by a partner at the scene — quickly discovered that he gave a fake name.

The driver insisted that he had not lied but bolted when told he was under arrest – running down an embankment toward the highway, the newly released video shows.

“Stop or you're gonna get Tased! Stop!” Lujan shouts.

He then fires the weapn after Thompson jumps a guardrail and collapses along the road

“S—! S—!” the deputy exclaims as the oncoming SUV slams into Thompson.

Anaheim police shoot and kill man running towards them

Anaheim, United States

September 29, 2021

The family of the man shot and killed by Anaheim police in late September is taking legal action against the city and the officers involved, seeking $20 million.

Antonio Lopez, the father of Brandon Lopez, says had he had the chance to speak with his son, he may still be alive.

"I think I could've got him out. I really think I could've got him out," a tearful Lopez said Tuesday. The family held a press conference outside the Ronald Reagan Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, alongside their attorneys, Vicki Sarmiento and Dale Galipo.

In a video released by the Anaheim Police Department of the Sept. 28 shooting, officers are seen attempting to negotiate with Lopez.

Lopez sat in a car at an intersection in Santa Ana for more than three hours before the use of flashbangs.

In the footage, police are heard yelling out "gun" several times after Lopez ran out of the vehicle. Within seconds, officers opened fire, hitting Lopez multiple times.

Further investigation revealed Lopez was not armed. He leaves behind four children.

His mother, Johanna Lopez, spoke of the things her son never got to experience.

"Brandon will never have the chance to walk his daughter down the aisle or share in any future accomplishments his sons will complete," she said.

25 January 2024

INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis have released edited body-camera footage and Ring doorbell footage that shows the department's first police shooting of the year.

It was just before 5:30 p.m. January 25th when three Indianapolis Metro Police officers conducted a “felony stop” on Brookside Parkway North Drive. Their target was Raphael Dekemper, 48 years-old, who had a warrant out for his arrest for possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness, pointing a firearm, and invasion of privacy.

Dekemper was also accused of pointing a gun at someone in early January.

Its called a “felony stop” because officers stay behind their patrol cars for protection while shouting out orders. The driver stopped the car and put her hands out of the window.

It was at that moment that all three IMPD body-cameras and someone's Ring doorbell capture Dekemper jumping out of the passenger side of the car and begins shooting at police.

All three IMPD officers fired their guns, dropping Dekemper on the sidewalk.

One IMPD patrol car was hit, but no officers or members of the community were hurt.

The driver was arrested without any trouble.

Police began immediate medical aid, but Raphael Dekemper passed away at the hospital.

During the initial press conference on the night of January 25th, IMPD Chief of Police Chris Bailey said Dekemper shouldn't have had a gun in the first place due to a prior 1997 murder conviction.

The shooting is under investigation. Finding solutions to police shootings was just one of several priorities listed by Chief Bailey during his swearing-in ceremony earlier this year.

TUCSON (KVOA) — Pima County Sheriff's Department released new body camera video of a shooting involving an officer back in August 2023.

Deputies responded to a home near Roger and Flowing Wells for reports of a burglary.

The alleged burglar is the victim's ex-boyfriend. He was holding a knife in his hand when he was asked to drop the knife, he refused and walked towards deputies.

That's when a deputy shot and killed the him.

What we see in the body camera video released by Pima County Sheriff's Department is a man with a knife walking towards deputies before he was shot and killed.

"Drop the knife now."

"Drop the knife now, don't come any closer."

On August 6, the sheriff's department says deputies responded to a burglary on the 4100 block of North Reno Avenue.

News 4 Tucson is told by the Sheriff's Department that the victim's ex-boyfriend had forced his way into her home. She was able to escape, but she told deputies that her niece was still inside of the home.

In the video, deputies are heard asking the suspect identified as, 33-year-old Reinaldo Morales to leave the trailer.

"Rey, come out of the house with your hands up."

When Morales didn't come out, deputies are seen entering the home trying to find the victim's niece.

Nats: deputies walking around the home

Track: moments later deputies find Morales laying in a bed with what appears to be a knife in his hand.

One deputy in the video, commands Morales to drop the knife both in English and Spanish several times, Morales refused, and is seen walking towards the deputy with the knife in his hand, then we then hear 5 gun shots.

Morales was shot to death.

Man attacks Brazilian police and gets killed (at 1:10, multiple POVs)

Vera, Brazil

February 5, 2023

A military police officer shot and killed Diego Kaliniski, 26, in the early hours of Sunday (February 5), during an approach for disturbance of quiet in Vera, 486 km from Cuiaba, in Mato Grosso. People who were at the scene filmed the action of the police.

According to the PM, they attended an occurrence of disturbance of quiet on Avenida Brasil. On the spot, they approached one of the young people and asked for the document of the vehicle in which he was. He reportedly refused and tried to react to the approach when the PM announced the arrest for contempt.

After the arrest order, the fight between the young man and the PMs began, as you can see in the video above. You can see the moment when he gets up, takes the baton of one of the agents and tries to beat the police officer.

In response, the officer fires the shots. In the video, it is possible to count at least six shots. One of the shots hit the victim's abdomen.

After the first shots, the young man, still standing, tries to follow, but is hit by more shots. According to police, he died at the scene. One of the shots also hit the brother of the victim, who was still hospitalized until the publication of this report.

BAY SHORE, N.Y. -- A 33-year-old suspect in a domestic dispute was shot and killed by Suffolk County police Saturday after he reportedly tried to stab an officer to death.

Streets surrounding Udall Road were closed Saturday morning as the Bay Shore neighborhood turned into a crime scene.

Zenen Lopez was cleaning snow off his car when he heard gunshots.

"I heard over six because it was pop, pop, pop, pop, pop," he said.

He then saw an officer on the snow applying chest compressions to the man police shot -- 33-year-old Taiquell Woodson. He says another officer had a bloodied arm after police say Woodson stabbed him multiple times.

"I just seen blood, it was dripping on the snow ... They were just frantic," Lopez said.

"This is a justified shooting. Without the decisive actions of these officers, one of our officers would've been killed today," Suffolk Police Commissioner Robert Waring said.

Police say they shot Woodson just after 9 a.m. when responding to a call from his wife saying he was acting violently. When at the front door, police say Woodson came at an officer with a large knife.

"The officer retreated and fell into the snow on the front yard. Woodson jumps on top of him with a knife and he starts stabbing the officer, clearly attempting to kill him," Waring said.

Police say the officer tried to use his taser, which failed. That's when another officer shot Woodson, who died at the hospital.

The officer who was stabbed was bleeding so much his partners applied a tourniquet. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dr. James Vosswinkel, who treated him, says the officer's injuries are non-life-threatening.

"We're hopeful for a full recovery. There is obviously a possibility with the concern for nerve damage that he may need surgery in the future," Vosswinkel said.

Police say Woodson's wife and a 1-year-old were unharmed.

The other officers were taken to the hospital for observation.

The attorney general's office is also investigating the shooting.
