From what I've heard the guy next to them was their father who found out they self harm and forced them to do it again. They passed out but apparently didn't die; not sure if that story is the truth but it's the one I've seen circulating with this video the most.

The blade doesn't really matter as long as its sharp its how deep you go but it looks like the broken top of an eyebrow shaper i use them hope this helped a little

some people like the pain afterwards too. i used to cut and i liked the pain of showering after and the scabs getting stuck to my long sleeves and reopening when i took my shirt off. it’s totally fucked and i’m glad i don’t think like that anymore. but yeah, for a lot of people the healing process is part of it too, i’d reopen mine a lot too which is why my scars are so bad.

He went all the way to the fascia layer. he could practially touch his lower arm bone, that's how deep he went. to asnwer you question... He probally lived and needed stiches
