I vaguely remember the backstory to this event. The instigator was a troubled man with two kids who had alcohol problems and would wait outside the gunman's house at night to antagonize and threaten him.
One night it came to this and the gunman saw he had a knife in his shorts, tried to go for a nonlethal shot but ended up blasting him in the PELVIS. He died before the ambulance came.
Man I'd rather get shot in the head than the pelvis. I also feel bad for the kids who might see this. Their father being a complete jackass and crying like a bitch.

glad I read this. the screaming was always absurd to me. It was like he instantly mentally regressed after his bluff was called. But with THAT info in mind, his reaction makes all the sense in the world.

I remember listening to a podcast with the guy being interviewed. Yeah he helped the guy out after he just got out of prison and they became friends. Then the guy got obsessed and essentially started stalking him leading up to this moment.
But dude I had NO idea he got shot in the pelvis that's crazy! I thought it was the chest. I wonder how long the dude was conscious before bleeding out

Pelvis? I heard the interview on active self protection and I thought he said he hit him square in the sternum. The last "hooos" he does sounds like he's passing out from a very serious chest wound (in the full video he goes a little longer) and his legs look like he's suffering from spinal shock.

Damn, this reminds me of a video where some kind of soldier shot someone in the thigh and the blood... It's just pouring out like broken faucet. It just takes less than 5 minutes for the guy from moving around in pain to moving less and slowly losing consciousness.
