This happened in Thailand back in 2015. The son was 21 years old living with his parents. News story stated that the dad, a traffic cop, was angry at the son for playing video games and not helping close their family-owned convenience store. The dad came back from work and his son playing video games instead of helping close the store. He berated his son, using what I would say… extreme language. The father then challenged the son to shoot him (the dad), pulling out and chambering his 9mm handgun. Instead, the son chose to end his life, most likely tired of his family’s bullshit.
The son was most likely depressed. Thais usually go to college or go out to find jobs and live independently when they turn 18. Instead, he’s 21 and stuck in his parents’ house/convenience store, getting berated every day for playing video games.

If you live with your family you should at least help support it, especially when it comes to a family business. The kid was lazy and didn't want to do jackshit and the dad was tired of the son being lazy. Although I'd say he'd took it too far with the gun I understand what the dad was trying to do and I sympathize with him.
