I don't know about you guys but I know the language they are taking into and it seems like the mother instructed the kids to record a video of her hanging. Maybe intent of suicide was there on her part but later in the video it seems like it was an accident. Her son is telling her to put her legs on the side so that she can be in video however she was also looking the camer and her foot slipped.
To be honest I don't know the reason why they were even doing such an activity. Still i can give you countless reasons why women in India are subjugated and harassed constantly. Remember India is still devloping and maybe on a scale one can put it just above a third world country in terms of cultural etiquette. A woman cannot ask for a divorce that commonly. Moreover the kid is wearing a turban, leading to my deduction that this is a Sikh family. Considering the language dialect I can say that it's not going well for the mother. She is actually not saying much and that's a sign of depression/trauma. Her kid is interacting with her but he isn't expecting her mother to die.

She looks pregnant, too, doesn't she? Maybe it's just the clothing/lighting/camera angle, but I swear it looks like she's got another one on the way.
Also, excusing this by calling it a "developing country" is fucking absurd. India has existed for a long, long damned time. Why was the USA, which has only been around for not even 300 years, able to "develop" at such a rapid rate, while a resource rich, highly populated country like India is still struggling with problems like you mentioned? I could say similar things about most third-world nations (or "developing countries" as you call them)- existed for hundreds upon hundreds of years, have all the natural resources and manpower they could ever need, but they still live in utter squalor, crime out of control, poverty at obscene levels...
Maybe those people in the "developing" places should just, idk, finish developing? With all the help the "developed" world offers them, they have nothing but excuses to show for it. Where's their pride as a nation, as a culture? It's sad, they should be booming empires, but like 80% of India doesn't have indoor plumbing.

That's literally what you sound like. Stop babying non-White people and start talking about them like they're human beings with agency and intelligence and the ability to do better, and stop blaming all of their fucked up situations on "muh colonialism". Without colonialism, most of these places would still be living in mud huts.

No, she is not pregnant. More like she is a housewife, who doesnt get enough outside exposure probably due to her mental illness or just lifestyle (could be wrong, but thats average size for lady in her age 32-40 in marriage in India).
Yes it is absurd but it's absurdly true. Western culture have diminished many old practices, Indians however have not, we need more time to develop brother. I am old enough to say maybe by the end of my lifetime we will catchup to same level of cultural tolerance like people from USA. But right now we are still behind.
Also USA as a country is 300 year old but it's not cultural young, mostly Europeans migrated to North American continent so technically speaking they have seen or indirectly seen the affects of all the growth of society from European point of view. I would be wrong only if you talking about the Red Indians tribe cultural development. Also I think the globalisation discussion is not for this post. I could explain you all the stuff about my home country but I don't know if it would be worth for both our time to discuss here still if you like the answers just hit reply :)
