its not about just supply and demand for dorms, its overall chaos of university education being not free. then it goes to rent prices in dorm and around university being inflated cause of capitalism again. its never ending circle of chaos. as a person from former socialist country that family saw 60s 70s free education from kindergartens to university degrees, im disgusted to todays prices and laws in most countries.

Landlord here, no way you can rent an apt in a building this nice for under 3k (plus amenities fees). This is a hotel that costs around 800+ a night. For 2k a month in NYC you will have to live with the poorest hipsters and drug dealers, unless you have the power of rent control behind you. Even in the surrounding cities of NYC, 2k a month for a nice single bedroom is becoming difficult to find.

Yeah, that seems right.... i live in California so im not too familiar with NY prices, but it sounds to be pertty close to the same here as it is there when it comes to living in the nicer parts of the states..... the prices sounds expensive but it is what it is and if you want to live in a nice place and choose a major world hub like NY city you're gonna have to fork over the cash because there is no shortage of people who are willing to do so if you aren't .... if you want a low cost of living move to the Philippines lol
