In japanese culture, putting others before yourself is extremely exaggerated. Workers will bow to their boss even when they are getting fired over a stupid reason. Wives will bow to their husband after being cheated on. Kids will bow to their teachers for failing a class. Sadly this is also relevant when a relationship fails and they take it to the extreme of comitting suicide as a way of showing their apology and feeling self worthy. It has been like this since their war ages. Samurais often would commit suicide if they felt weaker than their opponents just to escape the fact their ego had been damaged.

GABA basicly a thing that inhibs everything ib ur brain, signalling between neurons etc.

Lol I've ever jumped off 1st floor when I was 8-9ish and yes I did kinda “regret”. Regret isn't the right word, id say it was mostly like getting back to your senses and wondering what just happened. It was like an immediate realization like almost in a blink of an eye I found myself on the ground. It was kinda a mixture of euphoria and heightened consciousness to the point that you start wondering “was it really me doing this” lol ik this doesn't make sense idk how to put it in words
