The man was 42 years old and committed the act in front of the Regional High Specialty Hospital in Veracruz, Mexico. He died of his injuries — the blade he utilized being a small razorblade. It's unknown if the people filming know him or not. The man had apparently been suffering from extreme mental health issues, mentioning prior to his death that people and unspecified figures were following him.

I just find it interesting that no one even disarmed him. It appears that he was only a threat to himself. Regardless though it I do feel bad that he was suffering from his mental illness.

I agree. Sounds very plausible since he may be violent to others. I am wondering if he was a threat to others since he is more preoccupied in deleting himself. Realistic though it is best to get away from someone with a weapon.

I wouldn't expect people outside to disarm him since he could be a danger to them as well but considering he was outside of a hospital, i dont know why staff didn't disarm him. it was just a razor blade so he definitely could have been detained. it's sad

I was also wondering where was security. Typically in hospitals there would at least have one security on site. He could have been attacking others. Luckily / unfortunately he was more focused on himself.
