A Lada Kalina, a participant in the accident in which three people died on the M-5 highway in the Chelyabinsk region on Monday morning, drove into the oncoming lane at a speed of 120 km/h. This was stated in the propaganda department of the regional traffic police department.

Driving a VAZ-111930 Lada Kalina car, when overtaking, the 54-year-old driver was not convinced of the safety of the maneuver and made a head-on collision with a VAZ-21103 with a 65–year-old man at the wheel, - the traffic police said. – As a result, both the driver and the passenger of the Lada Kalina car died from their injuries at the scene of the accident. A 43-year-old passenger of VAZ-21103 with injuries was hospitalized in serious condition at the Chebarkul regional hospital.

The accident occurred on September 25 at 8:00 a.m. on the 1815th kilometer of the Moscow-Chelyabinsk highway, in a section where overtaking is allowed. The speedometer needle in the Lada Kalina car froze at 120 km / h, - the traffic police indicated.

Next, a second accident occurred: the driver of the Scania truck, moving behind the Lada Kalina car, began to slow down, and the Citroen van following him did not have time to slow down and crashed into the Scania. As a result of the collision, the driver of the van was injured, – the propaganda department clarified. Traffic police officers are investigating possible causes of a traffic accident at the scene of the accident.
