Cyrillic only refers to a writing system, not a language family. It is not the same as Slavic. There's even a version of Chinese language written in Cyrillic called Donggan.

No because its a latin derivative and also they use the same alphabet unlike Cyrillic but the difference is that russian compared to other slavic languages are vividly different in spelling so saying that its a Cyrillic language is better than saying russian especially because that might not be the truth but youd realize oh they all use Cyrillic making it a Cyrillic language
