Dude did her dirty. They look at each other and (non-verbally?) agree to cross together. He sees the train and has about a second to try and stop her.

It's a split second, and he probably assumed she would be looking as well, but I can't help but feel I would at least put my arm out to try and stop them if I was in this situation. Easy to say from the comfort of my bed, though.
