This is one of those videos that remind me of something.....sometimes no matter how safe you are driving and how many car lengths you have left between yourself and vehicle in front of you, you can't be prepared for everything whilst driving.

You can, actually. You drive slowly and let everyone overtake you if they're in a rush to get somewhere. Hasn't failed me in ~19 years of regular driving.
It's logical that you only have accidents with other drivers if you're near them, so leave plenty of distance and drive safely.
Sure, you might arrive at your destination 10 minutes later but you won't be a statistic on someone's slab.

a Fuso FE180 is 6000 LBS empty, I highly doubt it would have made much of a difference if he mashed the brakes the same time he tapped it
