A couple was hit by a vehicle while kissing on a sidewalk in CapΓ£o Redondo, in the south zone of SΓ£o Paulo. The man hit by the car died.
The couple was walking the dog around 7:30 am on Sunday (20) when they stopped to kiss on the sidewalk of a gas station. Security cameras at the establishment recorded the two being run over while kissing. The vehicle stops after the collision and a gas station attendant tries to remove the driver from the car. It is possible to see in the images that the couple's dog was not run over.
The driver was arrested red-handed. The driver, whose identity has not been released, told officers he did not remember what had happened. He was submitted to the ethylometer test, which resulted positive for alcoholic dosage.
The man who was run over, who was 31 years old, was rescued by Samu (Mobile Emergency Care Service) at the Municipal Hospital of M'Boi Mirim, in the south zone, but he could not resist the injuries and died. The 26-year-old woman was taken to Campo Limpo Municipal Hospital. The health status of the young woman was not disclosed. The names of the victims were also not released. The case was registered as culpable homicide (when there is no intention to kill) while driving a vehicle and culpable bodily injury while driving a vehicle.

Woman With Accessibility Ran Over By Truck
24.08.2023 - A woman believed to be a disabled person (OKU) was killed by a lorry on a road near Pasar Raya Mega, Tangkak, Johor on Thursday. At the time of the incident, the disabled individual was first seen riding a bicycle in the area before stopping in front of the lorry. It is believed that she wanted to stop by the supermarket, the woman stopped in the lorry's blind spot which at once caused the driver's view to be obstructed. Unaware of the existence of the woman, the driver then continued to move from the location which at once witnessed the individual being crushed to the bottom of the heavy vehicle. The incident, which was recorded through a closed circuit camera (CCTV), went viral on media sites and garnered more than 10,000 total views. It is understood that the disabled woman died at the scene and was taken to the hospital for further treatment. Although the accident was caused by the driver's negligence, in the comment section, the average netizen thought that the vehicle's blind spot area was indeed dangerous.

This incident happened while Owens was qualifying for a race, the process where cars individually run the track as fast as they can and their respective times are used to determine starting position for the race. Owens was from the area and raced this track frequently in competition and practice.
Owens lost control of his car in a turn, and went up on two wheels. Sprint cars of this design (wingless) can reach ~100mph (160kmh) reliably, but he was likely going much slower. I would guess he hit the fence at approximately 40mph (65kmh), still a very hard impact in a 1200lb (550kg) vehicle. The vehicle initially hit the cement barrier with the front right tire, and flipped up, causing the top of the car to impact the cement barrier and the fence. During the initial impact the top of the car's roll cage appears to have been damaged severely, as his helmet can be seen exposed as the car rolls up the fence. the car rolls once along the fence on the way up to the apex, and an additional time on the way down. As the car slides down the fence Owen's helmet appears to be what takes the impact of the top of the cement barrier. If he wasn't dead by that point, he surely was after that. The car then lands upright on the track, the announcer accurately says "and he is over big time!", and McDonald's rolls in to help.
