An older photo for those interested in the degradation process : https://www.deccanchronicle.com/150430/world-neighbours/article/watch-mount-everest-worlds-highest-graveyard-where-dead-bodies-are.
From what I gathered, it is the body of Milan Sedlacek who died in 2012, but I can't confirm.

RIP (shoulda paid more for higher quality sherpas)
Edit: I'm actually amazed he's decayed and degraded this much in only 10 years. Green Boots seems to be still in pristine condition in comparison, and he died early 90s iirc. Must be related to exposure; ie wind and ice. Green boots was in a sort of enclosure, and it looks like this dude was damn near the summit exposed to harsh elements

That's unfortunate, he seemed like a bright dude with a promising future

The down ward eye creases, his nose, and cleft chin all match. Could have been a fake LinkedIn you saw, weird ppl out there. This is definitely him, just compare his left eye crease in his profile shot to his fresh frozen corpse left eye. It's those unique tiny precise details that mean a whole lot

I'd rather jump down than freeze to death '-'
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
When you are cold, the blood vessels near the surface of your body constrict, reducing the amount of warm blood exposed to the cold and limiting heat loss. Your body can only keep that up for so long, and when it finally gives up, the warm blood comes rushing back to the skin, giving the illusion of being too hot.
so this guy most likely felt a rush of heat run through his body right before he died, probably felt really good and comforting

Yea, I wonder what he was seeing just before he died due to the lack of oxygen to the brain

I don't know what he saw, but I can imagine how he screamed in pain (if he had the strength left to scream).

I wonder how many other people are still up there on Everest, unrecovered bodies
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
Hundreds. They're used by climbers as waypoints. At a certain point, there's no point in using resources to recover people who have already died, not to mention the ones that are impossible to get to.

There is a little something called Gooooogle:
"Mount Everest has seen the tragic loss of over 300 climbers in recent history, with an estimated 200 remaining on the mountain to date"
But it's easier to ask that question here, eh?

I would also love to mention, that 80% of those who want to climb mountains like Mount Everest also leave huge amounts of trash on camps 3 and 4 without giving a single fuck about it.
Another thing is, that most of these climbers are not only poorly aclimated but also underprepared for climb like this. Alot of them also use sherpa's to carry most of their stuff without a worry in the world.

Correct, it's a very 5k fine but if your paying 95k to climb the mountain, you may as well pay the 5k excess

ppl who would throw their life over climb a fucking mountain are just stupid.
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
Although, you do have to pay around $100K USD I think it is to climb so some people don't want to turn back down when conditions/oxygen level gets rough and get their money's worth, so they end up taking unnecessary risks.

Pretty sure the cold is not the real danger. I believe it's then lack of oxygen that can undo any strong-minded and able-bodied climber.

According to dying with hypothermia it is not that painful
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
Apparently there's a point during hypothermia where the body begins to feel warm again. I believe it's when one is close to death. I don't think it's new warmth, just it being dispersed differently.

How is furry capitalist? The fandom is based almost exclusively around content and characters created by members. The artwork and costumes are made within the community. The conventions are nonprofit, and give heavily to charities. Furry culture is heavily socialist, my dude.
