A young boy was reportedly shot dead while shooting the video of a brawl in his village in UP's Sambhal district. A dispute between children of two politically rival families took a bloody turn when one of the families allegedly opened indiscriminate fire at another killing a 50-year-old man and injuring two in Sisauna village under the jurisdiction of Bahjoi police station in UP's Sambhal district on Saturday night.

What Happened?

On Valentine's Day 2018, during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, 15 year old Anthony Borges heroically used himself as a human shield by gaurding and holding a door closed to protect his classmates from the gunfire. On this day, having been credited to have saved 20 class members, ³ he was shot 5 times..Taking hits to the lungs, abdomen, and his legs. Here, and here he shows the scars that remained. In total, 17 people died that day..3 of which were staff members.

Hospitalization + Recovery

Due to the severity of his injuries, he had to undergo 14 surgeries to repair the damage. There were also complications from the bullet wound where he suffered a severe intestinal infection which was ultimately treated. I unfortunately was unable to find what kind of surgeries he underwent and the exact amount, according to this source written in July 2022, Anthony confirmed he had at least 14 surgeries [5] and will require a lifetime of treatment and healing.

The extent of his injuries greatly impacted his life, having caused him to have to relearn even the simplest of tasks.

“It was like being born [again] … being a baby. Having to learn to walk, to redo everything,” he says. “I don't have words to describe how hard is [the] past. Every day was painful.” [10]

Anthony's condition continues to improve and he aspires to be able to play soccer again after his recovery. He hopes to take his passion for soccer to the next step and play professionally!

"My goal is walking better," he said. "Run again. Because I want to play soccer. That's my goal." [4]

Lawsuits

Because of his injuries, Anthony Borges sued Parkland shooter Nikolas Cruz for assault and battery. The lawsuit stated they were seeking at least $15k in damages and for medical expenses, but will likely be requesting more. [7] Unfortunately, i was unable to find more info on the lawsuit.

On top of the lawsuit against Cruz, he planned to sue the Florida School District for negligence and failure to protect the students which led to great bodily harm. The separate lawsuit to further fund Anthony came only 2 days after a separate settlement of $25 million going to the 17 victims families, being unknown the amount each would be getting, it was said he was to be given an additional $1.5 million due to his injuries, but still had went ahead with a separate lawsuit [7]. It was stated that the severity and impact of his injuries will require further pay than what was initially given.

"The failure of Broward County Public Schools, and of the principal and school resource officer to adequately protect students, and in particular our client, from life-threatening harm, were unreasonable, callous and negligent" lawyer Alex Arreaza wrote in a letter dated on Monday. [2]

To further support the lawsuit, it was stated

"Due to his condition," the letter states, Borges "is currently unable to walk and has a great deal of difficulty performing rudimentary tasks for himself, requiring assistance constantly." [2]

"One of the problems that he still has is one of his feet he doesn't have full function in his toes, so they have some more work to do with the ligaments. He's not able to do what he loved to do, [that] triggers the PTSD and creates those problems," said Arreaza. [9]

The end goal of his lawsuits against Cruz and the Florida School District was to get the full truth out and to try and ensure something like this doesn't happen again.

"I don't know why I survived," the statement read, "but I will tell you that my family and I will dedicate the rest of our lives to seeing that something like this never happens again." [8]

Cruz was charged with and pled guilty to 17 counts of premeditated murder and was given life without parole. The families wanted him to face the death penalty as a way for the victim's families to seek justice, but courts decided against it.

A shooting occurred inside a cafeteria in Brazil, where the criminal was killed after a confrontation with a hero diner who thwarted the assault.

Through social networks, the exact moment in which a shootout breaks out between a cafeteria customer and an assailant has been spread, who ends up shot down in the business and is abandoned by his accomplice.

According to the article published by El Grafico, a couple of criminals enter a cafeteria in Brazil , threatening both the workers and one of the customers who was at the counter with a firearm.

In the video it is observed that the thief snatches the diner's cell phone and crouches down pretending to protect himself, immediately they both approach the cash register and the woman begins to steal the money , the man at all times threatens the restaurant staff with a gun. Cafeteria .

Suddenly the diner pulls out a gun and starts shooting at the criminal, the customer manages to leave the business while the badly injured thief tries to escape with the loot, however due to the severity of his injuries he falls dead on the side of the cash register. Upon seeing what happened, his accomplice fled the scene, leaving his partner lying on the floor.

Minutes later, she returns although it is unknown if it was to turn herself in or try to take her boyfriend's body, so at that moment she was detained at the scene.

The assault occurred on May 25 but it was this week when the video began to circulate on social networks.

A teenager has been blinded in both eyes after police shot 52 rubber pellets into his face during a protest.

Rufo Chacon, 16, was injured when the authorities shot into a crowd of protesters in Andean city, Venezuela, on July 2.

His 14-year-old brother, Adrian, and another child also suffered head injuries at the demonstration, which was organised over cooking gas shortages.

Two officers have been charged with attempted murder, improper use of a weapon and cruel treatment, following the chaos.

During the protest in Colombia (2019-2020), Police was illegally using home-made projectiles full of marbles nails and stuf instead of official the rubber pellets and shooting the protesters directly to the head (legally they can't shot directly nor in close range) which left several deceases and mutilations, including a lot of people losing their eyes... A woman identified as FM (31) ended her life by hanging herself on Sunday (14/4/2024).

Wearing cream-colored trousers, FM hanged herself in the bathroom using a towel while broadcasting her actions live on Instagram.

As of now, it is not known for certain why FM chose to broadcast her suicide on social media.

Before hanging herself, FM allegedly had an argument with her partner the day before the incident.

Before being found dead from suicide, FM was reportedly experiencing violence from her partner. This was based on a bump on FM's head before the suicide.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Kebayoran Lama Police AKP Suwarno denied these allegations. He stated that the victim's injury was not caused by her partner identified as YB.

"The bump was caused by the victim herself," said Suwarno on Wednesday (17/4/2024).

Suwarno even stated that YB did not commit any violence against the victim.

According to him, there is no concrete evidence to suggest that FM suffered violence from her partner based on the investigation results.

"We have investigated and examined the boyfriend, and he did not commit any violence against the victim," he said.

FM and her partner were allegedly arguing before the suicide incident occurred. This information was confirmed by Suwarno.

FM and her partner argued the day before the victim ended her life because they decided not to create content for social media.

"So they decided not to make content, the victim got angry, and then an argument ensued," added Suwarno.
