I know everyone likes drinking sometimes and that's why I want to educate a bit about that!

What is excessive drinking?

Excessive drinking does not count as alcoholism, I'll get to that later.

Excessive drinking includes binge drinking, heavy drinking, and any drinking by pregnant women or people younger than age 21.

Binge drinking, the most common form of excessive drinking, is defined as consuming: For women, 4 or more drinks during a single occasion. For men, 5 or more drinks during a single occasion.

Heavy drinking is defined as consuming: For women, 8 or more drinks per week. For men, 15 or more drinks per week.

Risks of Excessive Drinking

Injuries, such as motor vehicle crashes, falls, drownings, and burns.

Violence, including homicide, suicide, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.

Alcohol poisoning, a medical emergency that results from high blood alcohol levels.

Risky sexual behaviors, including unprotected sex or sex with multiple partners. These behaviors can result in unintended pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.

Miscarriage and stillbirth or fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) among pregnant women.

Oral and dental issues, such as dental decay.

Allergic reactions.

High blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, and digestive problems.

Cancer of the breast, mouth, throat, esophagus, voice box, liver, colon, and rectum.

Weakening of the immune system, increasing the chances of getting sick.

Learning and memory problems, including dementia and poor school performance.

Mental health problems, including depression and anxiety.

Social problems, including family problems, job-related problems, and unemployment.

Alcohol use disorders, or alcohol dependence.

Cirrhosis of the liver.

Withdrawal Symptoms can include

Nausea and vomiting

Headache

Auditory disturbances

Agitation

Paroxysmal sweating

Visual disturbances

Tremor

Clouding of sensorium

Loss of orientation

Anxiety

Withdrawal has a broad range of symptoms from mild tremors to a condition called delirium tremens, which results in seizures and could progress to death if not recognized and treated promptly.

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD)

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a medical condition characterized by an impaired ability to stop or control alcohol use despite adverse social, occupational, or health consequences.

AUD is considered a brain disorder that can be diagnosed as mild, moderate and severe. Luckily, with help of therapists and clinics, you can fight this disorder!

Symptoms of AUD

If you do a test for AUD, the doctor may ask following questions:

In the past year, have you:

Had times when you ended up drinking more, or longer, than you intended?

More than once wanted to cut down or stop drinking, or tried to, but couldn't?

Spent a lot of time drinking, being sick from drinking, or getting over other aftereffects?

Wanted a drink so badly you couldn't think of anything else?

Found that drinking—or being sick from drinking—often interfered with taking care of your home or family? Or caused job troubles? Or school problems?

Kept drinking even though it was making you feel depressed or anxious? Or when it was adding to another health problem?

Continued to drink even though it was causing trouble with your family or friends?

Given up or cut back on activities you found important, interesting, or pleasurable so you could drink?

More than once gotten into situations while or after drinking that increased your chances of getting hurt (such as driving, swimming, using machinery, walking in a dangerous area, or unsafe sexual behavior)?

Continued to drink even though it was making you feel depressed or anxious or adding to another health problem? Or after having had an alcohol-related memory blackout?

Had to drink much more than you once did to get the effect you want? Or found that your usual number of drinks had much less effect than before?

Found that when the effects of alcohol were wearing off, you had withdrawal symptoms, such as trouble sleeping, shakiness, restlessness, nausea, sweating, a racing heart, dysphoria (feeling uneasy or unhappy), malaise (general sense of being unwell), feeling low, or a seizure? Or sensed things that were not there?

Treatment of AUD

As mentioned before, AUD is treatable. The most common treatments are behavioural treatments like therapy or alcohol counseling. It's supposed to help you change your drinking behaviour. They help you find motivation to get better and teach you useful coping skills.

There are some medications that can also be used to help people stop or reduce their drinking habits. The most common ones are naltrexone (oral and long-acting injectable), acamprosate, and disulfiram. These are also the only ones approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

If you think you might have AUD and want to change that, please look out for help. There are a few hotlines but I can only encourage you to visit a professional! Go to your local doctor and talk to them about your issues. They can provide you with treatment and help you through your journey.

The worst human sacrifice incident most of us have ever seen...

In Jamui district, Bihar, an uncle sacrificed a seven-year-old child. In fact, a 7-year-old child was murdered in Jamui on December 22, 2020 in Sono block of Jamui district. In this case, the police have arrested the accused uncle Tufani Yadav. On Tuesday, the same tantric conducted a puja recitation in the house of Tufani and after the puja recitation said that if he sacrifices a human being, then his daughter will be cured. After which, in a hurry, the accused Tufani killed Saurabh, who was going on the road and killed by cutting his neck.

The incident took place in Kuhila village of Sono police station area, the accused came under the provocation of his younger brother Karu Yadav, in which a tantric asked to do so while doing tantra mantra. The SP said that Tantric Janardan Giri has been arrested from Giridih area, and the tantric arrested for the sacrifice had instigated the accused Tufani Yadav. Just before the murder of 7-year-old Saurabh, witchcraft was done in Karu Yadav's house, during which Karu Yadav was also given a palm tree toddy.

Saurabh, a seven-year-old son of Keval Yadav who is a resident of Kuhila village and elder brother of Tufani Yadav, had gone to the nearby shop buy biscuits. Saurabh was the only brother of three elder sisters. While returning home from the shop, the accused uncle came running with a sword and hit Saurabh's neck from behind, causing the child's head to get separated from the torso on the spot.

However, during this incident, the accused had planned to kill Saurabh's sister too, but she managed to escape and saved her life. At the same time, while Tufani Yadav was carrying Saurabh's head after killing him, a local woman saw him. After this, he left the head there and escaped to the forest with the bloody sword. The SP said that such an incident is a stigma for humanity and the accused will not be spared at any cost.

In an interview of the case, the SP said that there was also a conspiracy of Karu Yadav, cousin of the accused Tufani Yadav that when Tufani completed murder case, he would have the right to all his land. The police have recovered the sword used in the murder. In this murder, 5 people have been arrested and sent to jail in judicial custody, including Tufani's mother Kunti Devi (60) and wife Sindhu Devi (31) who played the role of instigators, and Tufani, Karu and Tantric Janardan Giri.

Two people are dead and four more injured after a shooting early Sunday morning at Market Square as Fiesta was winding down, according to San Antonio police.

In a 2 a.m. tweet, San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus said two suspects who fired shots at each other at Market Square had died and four other people received non-life threatening injuries. A pair of SAPD officers who fired on the suspects are uninjured, he said.

An SAPD spokesperson told TV station KSAT that two of the injured people were taken to area medical facilities, while the other two were examined and released at the scene.

A teenager has been blinded in both eyes after police shot 52 rubber pellets into his face during a protest.

Rufo Chacon, 16, was injured when the authorities shot into a crowd of protesters in Andean city, Venezuela, on July 2.

His 14-year-old brother, Adrian, and another child also suffered head injuries at the demonstration, which was organised over cooking gas shortages.

A three-year-old boy died after being hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle in a luxury residential area in this city, on Friday.

Based on the viral video footage, the child who was playing the scooter was seen stopping at the intersection, before a black four-wheeled vehicle continued to crash into him.

The child is believed to have died at the scene of the incident while the driver of the vehicle is believed to have suffered no injuries.

Earlier, a 21-second video recording of the accident went viral on social media.

South Johor Bahru District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat when contacted confirmed receiving the report of the incident and informed that his side was conducting an investigation.

"The 32-year-old driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle is being investigated according to Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said when contacted by reporters.

He said, if convicted, the driver could be fined between RM20,000 and RM50,000, and jailed for between five and 10 years.

On May 6, 2023, a mass shooting occurred at Allen Premium Outlets, an outlet center in Allen, Texas, United States. Nine people, including the perpetrator, were killed during the shooting, the youngest of whom was a three-year-old boy, and seven others were injured.[3] The perpetrator was fatally shot by a police officer already in the area on an unrelated call.[4]

The shooter, 33-year-old Mauricio Martinez Garcia, was a far-right extremist, although his specific motive for the spree killings was not clear.[5] Martinez Garcia's extensive online writings showed that he self-radicalized, adopting and promoting white supremacist, neo-Nazi, and "incel" ideologies, and posting hateful comments against women, Jews and racial minorities in the lead-up to the attack.[5][6][7][8][9] He committed the massacre while wearing a tactical vest embroidered with a "RWDS" ("Right Wing Death Squad") patch. His body was tattooed with fascist symbols including SS lightning bolts and a large swastika.[10][11]

The shooting began on May 6, 2023, at 3:36 p.m. CDT. Wearing black tactical gear,[14] the shooter exited a silver sedan and shot into a crowd outside the mall.[15][16][17] The gunman shot 15 people within three or four minutes.[18] Witnesses said the shooter appeared to be firing indiscriminately[19] and fired dozens of shots.[20] A store employee recounted that those running from the shooter alerted others of the shooting and helped shelter customers and employees in the backrooms of the store.[21] A military veteran attempted to give CPR to at least three of the victims, and recounted that many victims were rushed to a hospital as they were unable to be triaged at the site due to the severity of the injuries.[22]

The Allen Police Department said that calls from the mall came in at 3:40 p.m.,[15] and tweeted at 4:22 p.m. that law enforcement was at the Allen Premium Outlets.[13] Allen police chief Brian Harvey said that an officer who was at the mall on an unrelated call, after hearing gunshots, engaged and killed the shooter.[4][19][14][23] Bodycam footage from the officer who shot the shooter was subsequently released.[24]

Three guns were found on the gunman's body; five more were recovered from his car. He had purchased all eight guns legally.[25] He used an AR-15 style rifle during the shooting.[26][27] Authorities have not disclosed the exact types of firearms found at the scene.[28]

Nine people were killed, including the shooter.[4] Those killed were: Kyu Song Cho, 37; Cindy Cho, 35; James Cho, 3; Aishwarya Thatikonda, 27; Daniela Mendoza, 11; Sofia Mendoza, 8; Christian LaCour, 20; Elio Cumana-Rivas, 32.[3][29][30][31]

Seven others were injured, with three in critical condition.[4] Medical City Healthcare said that it was treating victims ranging from 5 to 61 years old, with most of the victims being transported to Medical City's McKinney facility.[32] As of May 10, authorities had released no information regarding the identities of the wounded.[28] Other sources indicated that the injured included the mother of the two deceased sisters, and the other child of the family of Korean descent who was the sole survivor of his family.[29][33]

Police said that Garcia had been staying at an extended-stay hotel in northwest Dallas, and that search warrants had been executed at the hotel and a home in northeast Dallas.[65] His motive for committing the shooting is unknown.[66]

On June 26, a grand jury cleared the unnamed officer who fatally shot Garcia of any wrongdoing, saying state law justified the use of force. Two days later the Allen Police Department released an edited version of the officer's body cam footage, beginning with the first heard shots and ending with the officer approaching the mortally wounded Garcia. Allen Police also said they had requested an independent review from the International Association of Chiefs of Police for purposes of improving training.[67]

On May 2, 2009, at approximately 1:30 in the morning, attorneys Barbara Scharton and Daniel Lyons, were murdered by multiple gunshots in their home on Aurora Street, Santa Barbara, California. Daniel Lyons' brother, Corey, was arrested the morning following the homicides and charged with their murders.

Analyses of the crime scenes showed two or more assailants were likely, contrary to the prosecution's theory of one assailant presented in the trial of Corey Lyons. The attack on Barbara Scharton in a bedroom on the first floor of the home involved a .22 caliber revolver (four discharges) and a 12 gauge shotgun (one discharge). Scharton's death was by a shotgun discharge to her face. The attack on Daniel Lyons in a bedroom on the second floor involved a 38 caliber revolver (five discharges), a 12 gauge shotgun (four discharges), a physical struggle between one or more assailants, and two blows on his head with a hatchet. Lyons' death was by exsanguination. Lyons' body was staged and a bloodied cloth was taken from his body. The home was searched by the assailants and items were taken. The assailants were careful not to leave evidence of the burglary.

The police identified Corey Lyons, the brother of Daniel Lyons, as the suspect in these homicides. Corey was arrested in a nearby city within eight hours of the homicides and subsequently charged with the two homicides. According to the prosecution, these were murders of revenge. A family dispute which became a civil lawsuit allegedly motivated Corey to commit the homicides where he lost most of his assets to Daniel plus his ability to conduct his residential construction business. Corey Lyons was alleged to have committed the homicides of his brother and sister-in-law in retaliation.

Corey Lyons was convicted in 2011 of the homicides on his third trial. The first trial ended in a mistrial due to potential jury biasing testimony by a prosecution witness. The second trial ended in a mistrial due to the jury being unable to come to a verdict. The jury of the third trial convicted. A survey of the jury members revealed the prosecution's gunshot residue (GSR) expert's testimony was the primary reason for conviction.

The 25-year-old rapper was part of the Spring Fest lineup this past Friday (April 27) at the Landmark Theatre. TMZ obtained footage that shows an attendee inappropriately touching the Sacramento, Calif., rapper while she was performing onstage. Instead of reacting immediately, she continued performing before speaking to her husband, who fans identified as RichMula500.

Upon learning what happened, he stepped into the crowd and had a conversation with the man who both he and Stunna Girl believed did the act. Per the footage, the man who slapped her butt was wearing a long sleeve Black shirt with a grey design on the arm; the man who RichMula500 spoke to had the exact same design, so it seems like they got the right guy.

It is worth noting that RichMula500 did not incite the fight, though he and the man were nose-to-nose while intensely speaking with one another. Stunna Girl's security got into the mix when they grabbed the man by his neck and took him to the ground before punching him repeatedly. She initially attempted to get involved in the fight but was escorted away, which ended up being the right decision as the brawl escalated to where chairs were being thrown and other concertgoers got involved.

It is safe to say that the man who inappropriately touched Stunna Girl learned his lesson. She took pride in her husband standing up for her via X (formerly known as Twitter). A fan recounted the situation and how RichMula500 “don't play about his wife,” and she quoted it and wrote “[Niggaz know].”

She made another post about the situation, highlighting the Syracuse women acting right at the show. “Anyways I still love the Girllies from Syracuse y'all was sooo turnt up,” she wrote. Do not be surprised if Stunna Girl's next show in Syracuse is women's only.

In an attack on a mosque near Herat (Guzara district>afghanistan), 6 people, including a child, were killed and at least one other person was injured. It is still unknown which group carried out the attack, but the local IS>ISKP group is suspected. It was probably one attacker, but according to eyewitnesses there may have been several. The attack on the Shiite mosque took place on Monday, April 29, 2024 at around 16:30 as worshippers were leaving the mosque after evening prayers. The act is confirmed by numerous news reports.

Two young women were cruelly killed by women members of a criminal faction in the region of the Ring Road in Boa Vista on Tuesday (12-14-17), according to the Civil Police. During the execution of one of them, the criminals made a video where it is possible to see the victim being killed with dozens of stab wounds.

Seven women, including a 14-year-old girl, and an 18-year-old man are responsible for the crime, police said. All of them have already had preventive detention decreed by the courts.

Two suspects were arrested on Wednesday night and confessed to the crime. They are Jessica Pereira de Lima, (23), and Kathely Mariane da Silva Rabelo. The rest remain at large. Most of those involved already have a history with the police and are part of a criminal faction.

According to the Civil Police, the victims were kidnapped on Monday and executed in the early hours of Tuesday.

The body of one of the victims was found on Tuesday in Boa Vista. She was identified as 20-year-old Dayane Cardoso Oliveira. The young woman was killed with at least eight gunshots. The body of the stabbed victim has not yet been found and she has not been identified.

In a video found by police on the cell phone of two of the suspects, the moment of the brutal murder of the missing victim is shown.

The images recorded by the group show the criminals putting a cloth in the mouth of the victim, who is on her knees. Then she is knocked to the ground and two women start stabbing her dozens of times in the back. One of the suspects cuts the girl's neck.

Throughout the action, the criminals wore gloves. The video lasts less than a minute. The crime takes place at night in a wooded area.

The Police chief and the head of the Nucleus for the Investigation of Missing Persons and responsible for investigations, asked the courts to arrest those involved and the warrants were issued.
