According to DPS radio traffic:

Just after 1:50 Sunday morning troopers were notified of a 911 caller behind a white older model sedan driving recklessly eastbound on the loop 202.

The caller then advised that the vehicle turned South onto the L-101 towards University Drive.

The vehicle hit the center divider before coming to a stop in the HOV lane.

Troopers arrived and pulled behind the car and attempted to make contact with the driver.

Troopers became concerned the driver would attempt to drive away from the scene given his behavior.

A second trooper arrived and positioned his unmarked patrol car in front of the suspect to prevent him from fleeing.

Troopers repeatedly asked the driver to exit the vehicle, but he refused.

Troopers decided to utilize a pepper-ball gun to coerce the driver into exiting his vehicle.

Pepper balls were deployed and the suspect continued to barricade himself in his vehicle.

Additional resources including a Tempe Police officer with a ballistic shield were called to the scene to aid in the barricade situation.

As the Tempe officer arrived, the driver began accelerating into the back of the unmarked Tahoe.

Troopers approached the passenger side door and broke the window before opening fire on the driver.

Officers deployed a drone to survey the vehicle and determine if the suspect was still moving inside of the vehicle.

Eventually a police K9 was deployed into the vehicle.

The driver was removed from the car and pronounced dead by Tempe Fire.

On the night of December 24, 1945, a fire broke out at the Sodder family home in Fayetteville, West Virginia, leading to one of the most perplexing unsolved mysteries in American history.

George and Jennie Sodder, along with their 9 children - sons Louis (23), Arthur (17), John (16), George Jr. (9), and daughter Marion (8), and their 5 younger children - Maurice (14), Martha (12), Louis Jr. (9), Jennie (8), and Betty (5) - went to bed that Christmas Eve unaware of the tragedy that was about to unfold.

Around 1 am, Jennie was awoken by a loud explosion, and when she looked outside, she saw the family's truck on fire. George quickly ran outside to try to put out the flames, but as he did so, he noticed that the telephone lines had been cut, preventing them from calling the fire department.

As the fire spread rapidly, the Sodder parents frantically tried to locate their 5 younger children, but they were nowhere to be found. The older children managed to escape, but Maurice, Martha, Louis Jr., Jennie, and Betty had vanished.

Despite a massive search effort involving local police, firefighters, and hundreds of volunteers, not a single trace of the 5 missing children was ever found in the ashes of the home. This led the Sodder parents to believe that the children may have somehow escaped the blaze, perhaps through a window or by other means.

Several theories have been proposed over the decades - from the fire being deliberately set to the children being kidnapped. Some believe the children were taken by the mafia due to George Sodder's vocal opposition to Mussolini's fascist regime. Others think they may have been abducted by a child trafficking ring operating in the area.

To add to the mystery, the Sodder family received a strange phone call a few days after the fire, in which an unidentified man claimed to have seen the children in a passing truck. The family also received a box of their children's belongings several years later, further fueling speculation about their fate.

Despite extensive investigations and searches over the next several decades, the Sodder children's whereabouts have remained a complete mystery. The Sodder family continued searching for their lost loved ones for the rest of their lives, but they never received the closure they so desperately sought. To this day, the disappearance of the Sodder children remains one of the most baffling unsolved cases in American history.

“A 24 years old man driving a Renault Clio in Bariloche, Argentina on 9th April 2024 ran over a motorcyclist and then left the scene at high speed but ended up crashing against a tree a few blocks down the road and was subsequently caught by the police. It was determined he had 1.52 Grams of Alcohol per Liter (g/L) which is over 3 times the legal limit. Motorcyclist was taken to the hospital but was later discharged with only minor injuries.”
