Slum in my city is near a man-made canal, which is pretty deep. And people in that slum do not have time/money to learn swimming. It's very hot here in my country. They often swim in the canal. They often die or drown there. Sad condition they are being in.

Time / money? First of all slum dwellers have all the time in the world. Second, you don't need a teacher to learn to swim - you just need a shallow water body. Ok, probably there is no such place around, but if you go closer to a deep canal after knowing how many have drowned there is a pure natural selection.

Hmmmm. No. It's certainly easy for you to just say it like that. I had a long project that required me to be in there. Slum dwellers do not have all the time in the world. In fact they barely have any time for themselves. Life there is horrible and stressful. Parents have kids to lighten their workloads, kids likely forced out of school since middle school to help their parents work, less education, less iq less eq less opportunity for self development. Go full cycle rinse repeat.
Please don't look down so much on them, they are a human being like you and me.

So this is always the first question that comes to mind... why are people going into water not knowing how to swim. The only possible reason I can think of is being stupid and completely disregarding the danger. Then I always ask the follow up question how could people be that stupid. I do believe this is not learned in the schools, but your parents must instill in you the fear of water if you can't swim. The same way as it is their responsibility to teach you to avoid being hit by cars while crossing the street.

Drop offs like that can cause moving water to be pushed up then back down quickly. Ive been in that situation at lakes. It tugs you down fast but if you can get your legs up you can usually float/swim away. They were most likely panicking after getting pulled plus the ammount of clothes the woman had on would not be helping her case. The dad seemed pretty confident before he started to panic. I think he drowned his woman by grabbing onto her and pulling her down with him. The boy probably couldn't swim all that well. If they didnt panic theyd probably all be fine tbh. Not saying they could swim because idfk. Just exercising other possibilities.

You're supposed to approach them behind, or even swim under the water and come up behind them. Then hooked your arm over one shoulder and under the other armpit. I know we can just shit on them all that they are in the water not knowing to swim, but the main retard who drowned his entire family is the father, who should have known best of all of them not to go into water with zero swimming skills where bottom is not visible (yes, Pakistan, probably no such bodies of water in that country). All the rest are collateral deaths - brave for their attempt, but really reckless and poor decision makers.
