This was the first death ever recorded of Franz Reichelt (1879-1912) who was an inventor. He made the first ever parachute which back then was a wearable suit for pilots that would expand into a parachute should they need to eject themselves from their aircraft. He was so confident that his invention would work that he decided to test it out by jumping off the Eiffel Tower.
He had tested the suits with dummies, the results were disappointing.
He had tested the suit himself, jumping from a much lower hight, into a haystack. The suit didn't work.
The police allowed him to jump from the Eiffel tower only under the condition that he use a dummy first.
People told him his suit wouldn't work.
So he knew it wouldn't work, everyone else knew it wouldn't work. Despite all that, he jumped from the Eiffel tower. That was pretty much suicide.

On February 21, 2023, at approximately 7:20 a.m., a 50-year-old Korean worker died after falling from a height of 5.6 meters at an electricity supply facility power tunnel construction site in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, constructed by a Korean company. The cause of the accident was determined to be that the worker, a subcontractor, fell while removing a cover from an opening while preparing for steel reinforcement work on a vertical power tunnel slab. The labor authorities have ordered a work stoppage at the site and are investigating the cause of the accident.
People who work in the field usually know that there's a hole under the plywood.
I assume that the accident was caused unconsciously without looking down.
What gave me goosebumps when I watched this video was that I saw a person fall, but I still work
