A high-powered motorcycle rider died after crashing into the back of a four-wheel drive on East Coast Highway 1 (LPT1) eastbound near Temerloh yesterday. According to a video clip from the dashboard camera of another road user that went viral on social media, the victim's motorcycle was thrown after hitting the four-wheel drive and thrown onto the vehicle's cargo space. Temerloh Police Chief, Mazlan Hassan, said his side received information about the incident at about 4.45pm. He said, the initial investigation found that the accident occurred as a result of the actions of a woman driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) who stopped on the shoulder of the road before crossing to the right of the highway. According to him, due to the woman's actions, the four-wheel drive driver had to press the brakes suddenly before being hit by the victim's motorcycle who did not have time to avoid it.
"The victim who was riding a Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle from the rear failed to avoid and hit the rear of the vehicle. The victim fell in the fast lane, while his motorcycle was thrown into the back of the Mitsubishi Triton he crashed into," he said according to Sinar Harian.
Mazlan said that the 35-year-old woman who was driving the SUV and her passenger, a 37-year-old Chinese man, were detained for further investigation. He said that urine screening tests on the driver and passenger of the SUV were negative for drugs.
"Investigations are being conducted in accordance with Section 304A of the Penal Code for negligence causing death."

A pillion rider died while a motorcyclist was seriously injured after hitting the side of a lorry on Jalan Tuaran near the Amminudin Baki Mosque here, this afternoon.
The victim, Adshar Sabree, 19, hails from Kampung Likas and was confirmed dead immediately at the scene in the incident at 12 noon.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Habibi Majanji said the incident involved a motorcycle ridden by the victim and a lorry driven by a 25-year-old man.
"The initial incident happened when the truck driver was on his way to Manggatal from Tuaran by using the lane on the left.
"When arriving at the location, the motorcycle the victim was riding hit the right side of the lorry before the victim was thrown to the side lane and run over by an express bus," he said.
According to him the impact of the incident caused the victim to die immediately at the location.

The rickshaw driver died after being crushed by the wheels of the truck
rickshaw driver named Sujan Mia (32) died after being hit by a truck in Sreepur, Gazipur.
The accident took place in front of the Mauna Fire Service Station on the Mauna Kaliakair road of the upazila on Thursday (April 25) morning.
Deceased Sujan Mia (32) is the son of Zainal Mia of Kwa Paschim Khand Karitala area of Sreepur Municipality. He earned his livelihood by driving rickshaws.
Citing relatives of the deceased and eyewitnesses, Deputy Inspector (SI) of Sreepur police station Helal Uddin said that Sujan Mia took a rickshaw out on Thursday morning like every day. He was going to Mauna Bazar from the intersection with a female passenger . A Kaliakoi-bound truck rammed in front of Sujan's rickshaw while taking a u-turn to the north after reaching the fire service station on the Mauna-Kaliakoir road. When Sujan fell on the road, he was crushed by the wheels of the truck.
Sujan Mia died on the spot. At that time, the passenger sitting in the rickshaw was completely healthy. According to locals, the truck and the driver were detained by the crowd. But the truck was found at the spot but the driver was not found.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sripur Model Police Station Akbar Ali Khan told Jayzadeen, "The police were sent to the spot after receiving the information. The body has been recovered and a report has been prepared. In view of the request of the relatives of the deceased, further legal action is underway in this matter."

During World War Two war shows, like airshows today, were a popular way the military drummed up a patriotic spirit in local communities. The shows demonstrated military equipment to awe viewers and show just what all of the homefront efforts had produced.
Spokanintes were looking forward to attending the “Stay On The Job” war show on the afternoon of July 23, 1944. The show was conceived by Spokane air service command deputy commander Colonel Paul Schidecker to encourage the workers of the Inland Northwest to keep working to produce military equipment and vehicles. By having mock firefights and air battles to show how effective the equipment was in use along with how much wear and tear they underwent, the SPASC hoped to curve the high turnover rate the defense industry was seeing.
With the show beginning at 3 P.M., a crowd of over 100,000 viewers gathered in a natural amphitheater north of Spokane to watch the parades, weapons demonstrations, aerial maneuvers, and bomb droppings. About half an hour after the show began, during the parade of military aircraft the crowd's attention was called to three A-25 dive-bombers flying into sight. Moments later tragedy struck as two of the planes collided and fell to the ground, bursting into flames. The crowd initially believed the explosions to be a part of the show, which promised realism, but soon they began to realize just what they had witnessed. Crews rushed to control the fires, and after a 45-minute interruption, the show continued. The next day it was announced that four men died in the crash, two pilots and two engineers.
The deaths of these young men lived on, in a sense, in the 1956 science fiction film Earth vs. the Flying Saucers. Film crews recording the event caught the accident on camera and the footage of the two planes crashing and exploding became stock footage for Hollywood movies.

Quad bike rider José Miguel Vaca Díez Barrientos, 30, lost his life on Saturday, 30 September 2017, as a result of an accident while participating in the third edition of the Rally Turístico Buenavista, a quad and motorcycle event held in Buena Vista, province of Ichilo, Santa Cruz department in eastern Bolivia.
The accident occurred at approximately 10h00, only 4 kilometers after the start of the 35-kilometer first stage Buena Vista - Espejillos. Vaca Díez lost control of his quad and crashed upon landing after a big jump over a bridge. The machine fell on its front wheels and rolled end-over-end, crushing the rider. After the crash José Miguel Vaca Díez Barrientos was taken off the road by spectators. He succumbed to his injuries minutes later, while on his way to the Buena Vista hospital.
In consequence of the tragedy, the organizing committee of the Asociación Buenavisteña de Motociclismo decided to abandon the rally. The second stage, scheduled to be contested the following day, was canceled.

One was killed, while another was injured in a road accident involving two vehicles on Bintulu-Sibu Road, near Budiman Driving Academy here today.
The victim was the driver of a pickup, while the minorly injured was a car driver.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) said firefighters from the Bintulu Fire Station were deployed to the scene after they received an emergency call about the accident.
Hu Seih Hing was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedics after he removed from his vehicle overturned by a firefighter.

A woman died after being involved in an accident involving seven vehicles near Lintas Square on Jalan Lintas here on Tuesday evening.
In the incident at about 6pm, the 26-year-old victim was confirmed dead at the scene after being trapped in his vehicle which was stuck under a lorry.
Head of the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Ordine Gilu, said he received a call about the incident at 6.08pm.
He said, a total of 14 members were chased to the scene of the incident which is six kilometers away from BBP Kota Kinabalu.
"According to information, the accident involved seven vehicles, namely Perodua Bezza, Perodua Myvi, Toyota Vios, Proton Saga, Proton Iriz and two lorries.
"There was a female victim trapped in a Perodua Bezza vehicle and the fire brigade managed to remove the victim but she was confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a statement on Tuesday night.

A 34-year-old man, who was riding a high-powered motorcycle, was killed after his machine crashed into the rear of a pick-up truck at Km98.6 of the East Coast Highway Phase 1 (LPT), near the Lanchang exit here yesterday.
In the 4.45pm incident, the pick-up truck abruptly stopped in its attempt to avoid crashing into a woman crossing the highway in the area.
The motorcycle rider, identified as Mohd Haziq Ramli, who is a musician attached to Kuala Lumpur City Hall, died on the spot during the accident.
Temerloh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mazlan Hassan said preliminary investigation showed the accident was believed to have occurred after 35-year-old woman driving a jeep stopped by her vehicle by the roadside before crossing the highway.
"As a result of her actions, the pickup truck abruptly stopped when the woman was crossing the road. At the same time, a motorcycle coming from behind crashed into the rear of the pickup truck," Mazlan said in a statement.
Due to the impact of the crash, the motorcycle rider fell in the fast lane of the highway while his machine was thrown onto the rear of the pickup truck.
Police, said Mazlan, have arrested the woman, who is from China, to facilitate investigation into the accident.
