At least no noteworthy ones, most are just shitheads who kill 3 people but I wouldn't even consider that a mass shooting. I'd be more inclined to call it a tripple homicide. Anyway I've been keeping a relatively close eye on things and haven't been seeing much other than shit going down in low income neighborhoods which doesn't really count in my eyes. I find it to be interesting that people saw mass shootings are more prevalent than ever but I have yet to see one that has reached more than 9 people in the past 2 years. I like researching this stuff but I feel like I'm out of people to learn about, I've been having to move down the totem pole and settle for learning about people who can't even break the double digits. Fuck I'm probably gonna get shit for this post but I don't care.

USA - New York, March 27, 2024

OZONE PARK, Queens (WABC) -- A man wielding scissors was shot and killed by police in the Ozone Park section of Queens on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were responding to a home on 103rd Street after a mother called about her 19-year-old son acting erratically.

When officers arrived, they were confronted by the man who was wielding scissors.

NYPD officials say the officers attempted to take the man into custody and get him help, but instead, he pulled a pair of scissors out of a drawer and charged at the officers.

The officers initially fired their tasers at the man, in the living room kitchen of his second-floor home, but as his mother rushed to his aid, officials say "she accidentally knocked the tasers out of his body," rendering them ineffective

The suspect then picked up the scissors and came at the officers again, forcing them to open fire.

"It was chaotic, fast moving and they had to defend themselves," NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said.

The man who was shot was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The officers were not injured but were taken to an area hospital to be treated for ringing of the ears.

The beheaded body of a 14-year-old teenager was found in the outskirts of Bhagwanpur village under Kotraroad police station limits of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh on January 7, 2016. The boy's head was meters away from the torso. Some material used in conducting religious rituals, including incense sticks, earthen lamps, flowers, besides a sharp weapon and an empty liquor bottle, were recovered from the spot, which indicated that a puja was performed at the murder place.

The convicted man Ranvijay Bharti only has got a life term and a Rs 5,000 fine. Bharti, a native of Chhatauna village in Azamgarh district, told the police that he had shifted to Raigarh ten years back along with his family and started working at Jindal Steel. Later, he himself became a contractor, but suffered a huge loss in his work. According to Ranvijay, black magic is a usual practice in his village and he thought some "evil power" was creating troubles in his personal and professional life. He decided to offer his son Chandan Bharti as sacrifice to get rid of his troubles. On January 6, he took Chandan near Bhagwanpur village and after performing rituals beheaded Chandan at the night. Among the six children, Chandan was the fourth child of Ranvijay Bharti.
