Gustav Elijah Åhr, better known as Lil Peep or Trap Goose, was born on November 1, 1996, at 10:37 AM in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pennsylvania, to his mother, Liza Womack, and his absent father, Karl Johan Åhr.**

Family:

Gustav grew up in Long Island, New York, with his mother, Liza Womack, a first-grade teacher,

his mostly absent father, Karl Johan Åhr, a college professor,

and his older brother, Oskar Åhr.

Early Life:

It was during his early years that his mother began to call him "Peep" as a nickname. (There is very little information available about his life before he turned 14 sorry).

Teenage Years:

At the age of 14, Gus started attending high school at, Long Beach High School.

It was around this time, that gus had gotten his very first tattoo, a sleeve with his mother's initials and birthday on it,

This was followed by facial piercings the first of which i believe was a septum piercing.

In the following year 2012, at the age of 15, his parents split up, something that is believed to have had a very negative effect on his mental health, as shortly after he began experiencing severe anxiety and depression. It was seemingly because of his struggles with, anxiety and depression gus started to make music in 2013 going by the name trap goose as he stated in 2017 he, wanted to give a voice to people that suffer from anxiety and depression, people who have been abused, bullied, and the people who were misunderstood like him, however it is unkown if this was his reason at the time and will likely remain this way for the forseable future. The music gus made in 2013 was released 2 years later in 2015, it was during this year at the age of 16, according to his mother, he started to self-medicate his anxiety with marijuana and Xanax, one of those drugs, xanax being one which would ultimately lead to an addiction and his death 4 years later. In the year 2014, Gus graduated from Long Beach High School at the age of 17,

He moved to California in, February of that year shortly after the graduation. After the move Gus changed his stage name to, Lil Peep, a name he chose because his mother would call him peep as a nickname. Later that year the young artist would begin to, release his music on SoundCloud and YouTube, it was on these two platforms where he would first rise to popularity in the underground hip-hop community.

Early Adulthood:

In 2015, Gus turned 18 and over the course of that year would release the following 3 mixtapes: "Lil Peep Part One," "MALL MUSICC," and "Live Forever," 4 EPs: "Feelz," "In the Bedroom I Confess," "Garden," "Romeo's Regrets," and "Vertigo" (a group collaboration) And the following 16 singles, "Unbreakable," "Family," "Waste of Time," "A Plan to Kill Myself," "On the Floor," "Fish Scale," "40 Missed Calls," "Bitch Imma Kill You," "Halloween," "Lil Yung," "Dreams & Apparitions," "Black Fingernails," "Sleepy Hollow," "Water Damage," "Words You Hear on a Sinking Ship," and "Mo Murda." Toward the end of the year, he released his most popular song, "Star Shopping" a song that totally launched him into the spotlight but with his music gaining more and more traction and really picking up in popularity but this sudden popularity would only worsen his drug usage, as he started to use cocaine in addition to, Xanax and bud, all of which would become something mentioned frequently in gus's music.

2016:

In 2016, Lil Peep would participate in his first live performance as a member of Schemaposse on February 12 in Tucson, Arizona,

At this concert he would perform: "Beamerboy," "Lil Kennedy," "Pray I Die," "Let Me Bleed," "Praying to the Sky," "The Pull Off," and "Words You Hear on a Sinking Ship." A few months later, in june still riding off the popularity of star shopping and his live concert, Gus released one of his most popular mixtapes and a favorite of mine, "Crybaby."

It took him one month to create and was released just, hours before its scheduled release date, with Gus doing the majority of the mixing and mastering himself. In August, he signed a multi-year contract with the management company FAE (First Access Entertainment).

In September, a month after signing with FAE, Gus self-released his "breakthrough" mixtape, "Hellboy," on September 5.

This mixtape was promoted by two singles and a headlining tour in 2017. Two months after the release of "Hellboy," Lil Peep went on his first group tour with Fat Nick, Smokepurpp, and others, touring through Texas, Utah, Colorado, California, and Arizona.

2017:

In 2017 at the start of the year, Lil Peep would go on his first solo tour, the peep show

Where he toured through, three Russian cities and then across Western Europe before returning to the U.S, where his tour continued until may 10th. Soon after this massive tour came to an end, Gus would move to London and record the EP "Goth Angel Sinner.” By August of 2017, he would release his first studio album "Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 1."

Shortly after releasing the album, the artist went on a second tour across the U.S. It was during this tour that Lil Peep's life came to an abrupt end on November 15, two weeks after his 21st birthday, when he overdosed on fentanyl in his tour bus just hours before his second to last concert in Tucson, Arizona. The Pima County Medical Examiner's Office reported the cause of death as an accidental overdose on fentanyl after running a toxicology test.

Legacy:

After lil peeps death, his mother liza womack filed a lawsuit in 2019, against his managment company, FAE (First Access Entertainment) and several of that companys employees for the following claims: negligence (FAE allegedly having gus still preform live shows even though he was, barely able to communicate let alone preform due to his drug usage), wrongful death (FAE allegedly, encouraging gus's drug usage and facilitating it) and breach of contract (FAE allegedly refusing to, pay the 4 million dollars owed in royalties to lil peeps estate). The trial was continually pushed back over the course of 4 long years until finally being set to begin on, march 8th of 2023 but, liza womack had reached a settlement with the management company in early feburary, just 3 weeks before the trial was set to commence from what i have gathered this settlement gave lil peeps estate full control of his music and am assuming, it gave the estate all future profits from it aswell.

FAE (First Access Entertainment) to my knowledge, no longer controls any music released under his name. With his mother liza womack and brother oksar Åhr taking total control of his music liza says “it is a solemn moment for us as we reflect on the struggles of the past 5 plus years” liza also states that her and oksar will protect gus's music with all of their strength. Many remember the artist as one of the greatest of his generation. The rolling stone even referring to him as something along the lines of, a modern day kurt cobain, and as one of the most influential rappers of his generation in some tv interview i saw some time between, 2016 and
