“My wife and I, two of our friends and our dog were out for a drink, after which we went for a pizza. My friend stood in the line but he was unable to carry the entire order so I came to help him. Then the two young men accused me of cutting the line, after which I said we were together – which they understood that we were a couple,” Vucevic told N1. “They saw my dog carrier and that was enough for them to think that I'm gay. They first insulted me and then attacked me physically.”
-The insults were homophobic, he added.
“Even though I didn't want to justify myself to them, I thought it was not right to say those things to anyone, and I told them that. That was, maybe, my mistake – because I dared to answer them, I wasn't quiet,” he said.
-Vucevic suffered a cut right above his eye and three dislocated teeth.
