A man, identified as Marcelo Mangia, 43, was shot several times in the early afternoon of Wednesday (1), in the central region of Farroupilha. According to security camera footage, at around 12.20pm, Mangia was in front of a bakery, on the corner of Rui Barbosa and Rômulo Noro streets, when an individual approached him from behind and shot him at least five times with a 9mm pistol. This is the second murder recorded in the city in 2023.

The Military Brigade and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) confirmed the man's death at the scene. The area has been cordoned off for the work of the General Institute of Forensics (IGP).
