Pilar cyst removal.

Here's some gross shit they took out of my friends head.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17129671303758845.webp

My friend went to the dermatologist to get these bumps on his head removed, and the doctor removed three grayish-looking, firm sacks.

Usually you can just pop these like a pimple, but cysts are usually much deeper in the skin, and have a higher chance of returning compared to regular acne. If you don't remove the smooth sac that contains the irritation, then they just come back to cause you more pain. Your best bet is to get professional medical care and get these little bastards removed by a doctor.

Anyways. Here's some educational shit about cysts.

General information: Pilar cysts, sometimes referred to as trichilemmal cysts or wens, are common growths that form from hair follicles; they are most often found on the scalp. Pilar cysts are smooth and mobile, meaning they can be moved slightly under the skin. They are filled with keratin (a protein component found in hair, nails, and skin). They are usually painless but can be tender. There may be one or a few pilar cysts. Very rarely, pilar cysts can become cancerous, but a biopsy is usually preformed to test for any possible cancerous cells.

Treatment: Basically you're given a local anesthesia (usually injected around the site) and the doctor will cut around or over the cysts. This is the best way to get rid of any discomforting bumps. You are given stitches if the cyst size is big enough, otherwise you are usually just bandaged up and sent home. Another form or treatment is oral antibiotics, but this is usually done when the cyst(s) have became infected. Or a warm towel over the cyst to shrink the size down.

At risk: Most commonly affects 5%-10% of the population with hereditary genetic ls being the most common cause in middle-aged women.

Symptoms: Pilar cysts are usually found on the scalp. They appear as smooth, movable, skin-colored nodules (solid, raised bumps that are firm to the touch) under the skin. There can be more than one in an area, and they can become quite large. Occasionally, they are tender to the touch. Pilar cysts may rupture on their own or if injured, usually causing intense irritation.

What is a Carotid Endarterectomy?

Carotid Endarterectomy or CEA is a surgery performed on patients who suffer from atherosclerosis. During a CEA, the surgeon will open the carotid artery and remove plaque, that builds up inside the carotid artery.

What is atherosclerosis/ carotid artery disease?

Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of narrowed carotid arteries. It is a buildup of plaque in the inner lining of the carotid artery. Plaque is often made of fatty substances, cholesterol, cellular waste products, calcium, and fibrin.

What causes atherosclerosis?

Causes can be: high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, smoking and older age.

Why does atherosclerosis need to be treated?

The carotid arteries lead oxygen and blood to the brain. If they are narrowed, the brain is no longer supplied with enough oxygen, which can lead to a stroke.

CHILD WARNING (Effortpost? :marseybegging:) Myiasis (infestation of MAGGOTS) explained! tons of pics+vids at the end! :marseysick:

What is myiasis?!?

Myasis is the infestation of maggots in the flesh. This can be anywhere from in your penis to in your head! And yes, there are videos of both later down.

How does myiasis even happen!

There are many ways for myiasis to occour, the most typical of ways are:

• Flies deposit their eggs near a sore or wound.

• Some flies will attatch their eggs to mosquitoes, other flies or ticks. Once those insects come into contact with a human, the larva will enter the bites.

• In Africa it is very common for a certain type of fly to lay it's eggs in damp cloth like bed linen or clothing, they also lay there eggs on the ground; when a human comes into contact they will likely become infested with the larvae.

• If someone ingests fly eggs then they are at risk of developing intestinal myiasis and infection.

Here is a patient with myiasis in his elbow.

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17126104860492477.webp

https://i.watchpeopledie.tv/images/17126104869390345.webp

Fig. 3 Left elbow after removal of larvae

How do I kill it!?

The removal is more simple than many would first think, a medical professional will undress the wound, take gauze or forceps and mechanically remove them. This process is done daily for 3 days or until there are 2 successful removal procedures where no maggots observed in the infestation area. They may also use a saline solution to flush out the maggots from the infestation area.

Here are many videos and photos of myiasis!

CHILD WARNING EFFORTPOST lichtenburg figures
What are Lichtenburg Figures + Scars

Lichtenburg figures + scars, also know as lightening flowers or trapped lightening are an aftermath effect of being struck by lightning or from other high voltage discharges. After about an hour after the strike, figures form with a fractal type branch pattern and is most cases is not permanent and will typically fade away within a few days after the strike (on humans).

Also, humans aren't the only things that can be subjected to this phenomenon. Lichtenburg figures are created through the transmission of high-voltage electrical discharges across or within electrically insulating materials (dielectrics). This can be done in materials such as wood, acrylic, or glass.

Signs of a Potential Strike

If you're outside in a storm or in the beginning of one, and your hair starts pricking up, you start hearing a crackling/snapping sound, notice a burning smell in the air, and/or feel a tingling/buzzing sensation throughout your body..you are at a high risk for a strike. Seek shelter immediately.

Seeking Shelter

"Based on documented cases of lightning deaths and injuries, the nationwide odds of being killed or injured by lightning are estimated to be about 1 in 400,000 for each year of your life. Assuming a life span of **80 years, that's lifetime odds of more than 1 in 12,000." [9] Leisurely activity is the cause for around 6/10 of lightening deaths and work related activity is responsible for around 2/10 of lightening deaths [12]

Your behavior during storms will also determine your odds of being struck, the more you know about the warning signs and safety precautions, the lower your chances will be, and vice versa.

If you're outside during a lightening storm you should seek appropriate shelter. [11]

Safe Shelters

  • Homes

  • Stores

  • Offices

  • Hard top vehicles w/ windows up

Unsafe Shelters

  • Under/near isolated trees

  • Open shelters (gazebo, porch, dugouts, sports arenas)

  • Open spaces (parks, golf courses, playgrounds)

  • Open vehicles (convertibles, motorcycles, golf carts)

  • Bodies of water (pools, ponds, lakes, beaches)

  • Next to/near poles or tall objects

  • Next to/near objects that conduct electricity

  • Cliff or rocky overhang

If you are outside with no safe shelters nearby, follow these steps:

  • Get off elevated areas such as hills, mountain ridges, or peaks.

  • Do not lie flat, Crouch down in a ball-like position with your head tucked and hands over your ears so that you are down low with minimal contact with the ground

  • Never shelter under an isolated tree. If you are in a forest, shelter near lower trees.

  • Do not seek shelter near a cliff or rocky overhang

  • Immediately divert from bodies of water

  • Stay away from objects that conduct electricity (such as barbed wire fences, power lines or windmills).

  • If you are with a group of people, split up..this will reduce the number of injuries if lightening strikes

If you are out in the open water and a storm rolls in:

  • Return to shore immediately.

  • If you are on a boat in open water when a thunderstorm rolls in, return to shore immediately and seek shelter.

  • If you are unable to return to shore, boats with cabins offer some protection.

  • lf caught in a storm in a small boat with no cabin, drop anchor and get as low as possible

here you will see why you shouldn't huddle around a tree during a lightening storm

The term Lichenburg Figure comes from the German physicist, Georg Christoph Lichtenburg who discovered this phenomenon in November of 1777 when he was experimenting with static electricity.

As seen below, you can see that you don't have to wait for lightening to strike to get the figures. There are ways to mimic the electric charges to make your own Lichtenburg figures which can be used to make beautiful pieces of art.
