A woman died after being involved in an accident involving seven vehicles near Lintas Square on Jalan Lintas here on Tuesday evening.
In the incident at about 6pm, the 26-year-old victim was confirmed dead at the scene after being trapped in his vehicle which was stuck under a lorry.
Head of the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Ordine Gilu, said he received a call about the incident at 6.08pm.
He said, a total of 14 members were chased to the scene of the incident which is six kilometers away from BBP Kota Kinabalu.
"According to information, the accident involved seven vehicles, namely Perodua Bezza, Perodua Myvi, Toyota Vios, Proton Saga, Proton Iriz and two lorries.
"There was a female victim trapped in a Perodua Bezza vehicle and the fire brigade managed to remove the victim but she was confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a statement on Tuesday night.

A motorcyclist is believed to have died after being involved in a horrific accident on Saturday.
It is understood that the incident that took place near Jeram, Selangor also went viral on social media after an individual uploaded a dashcam video recording of the incident via the @m.aidil97 TikTok account.
This is because the accident was caused by the carelessness of another vehicle that made a 'U' turn, causing the victim to be unable to avoid and crash into the vehicle. According to the TikTok account user, the victim who was his friend died after crashing into the irresponsible driver's car.
In the minute-long video, it is understood that the victim was on a straight road before hitting the side of the vehicle. The impact of the collision also caused a fire involving the victim's motorcycle and the vehicle.
Another TikTok user, @Arman111 claimed he was at the scene.
"I passed this place... near Jeram after the accident, the motorcycle was burnt. I saw an ambulance and people gathered there."

Two people died after a lorry loaded with fertilizer plunged into a ravine on Jalan Beluran-Paitan, today, believed to be due to brake failure.
Beluran District Police Chief, Superintendent Kasim Muda, said the 44-year-old driver and 25-year-old passenger died at the scene as a result of severe injuries.
He said that when the accident occurred at about 9 am, the lorry was traveling from Lahad Datu to Paitan.
"The result of the investigation at the scene found that the lorry carrying a load of fertilizer was suspected to have lost control before it skidded to the left of the road."
"As soon as it skidded off, the lorry was reportedly thrown into the ravine," he said in a statement today.

A pillion rider died while a motorcyclist was seriously injured after hitting the side of a lorry on Jalan Tuaran near the Amminudin Baki Mosque here, this afternoon.
The victim, Adshar Sabree, 19, hails from Kampung Likas and was confirmed dead immediately at the scene in the incident at 12 noon.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Habibi Majanji said the incident involved a motorcycle ridden by the victim and a lorry driven by a 25-year-old man.
"The initial incident happened when the truck driver was on his way to Manggatal from Tuaran by using the lane on the left.
"When arriving at the location, the motorcycle the victim was riding hit the right side of the lorry before the victim was thrown to the side lane and run over by an express bus," he said.
According to him the impact of the incident caused the victim to die immediately at the location.

"Yesterday morning, my late husband had a message to his daughter to always keep this private mosque of ours in case one day she is called by God and I didn't think that was his last message.
"This mosque was inherited from my husband's late father and many activities are carried out here including lectures, al-Quran study classes for children and adults and many other religious things," he said when met at his home here today.
In the incident at 9.30 last night, the deceased was riding a motorcycle on his way to his nephew's house not far from the residence to participate in Hajat prayers.
He was said to be riding a motorcycle on the side of the road against the current before being hit by a car and died at the scene.
Harison said, at the time of the incident, he was at the children's home in Melaka and found out about the news through a family member who contacted him before continuing to leave last night.
"The last time we met and talked was last Wednesday morning before I left for Melaka and after the morning prayer that day, I greeted him and asked for forgiveness.
"I felt moved to apologize that day and jokingly told forgive my mistake because I didn't know who would 'go' first and my husband just smiled.
"In the evening before leaving for Melaka, I also had time to cook lamb leg soup for him and saw him eating it with relish," he said.
The deceased was safely buried at the Mukim Waqf Delima Islamic Cemetery, here, at 11.30 this morning.

A three-year-old boy died after being hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle in a luxury residential area in this city, on Friday.
Based on the viral video footage, the child who was playing the scooter was seen stopping at the intersection, before a black four-wheeled vehicle continued to crash into him.
The child is believed to have died at the scene of the incident while the driver of the vehicle is believed to have suffered no injuries.
Earlier, a 21-second video recording of the accident went viral on social media.
South Johor Bahru District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat when contacted confirmed receiving the report of the incident and informed that his side was conducting an investigation.
"The 32-year-old driver of the four-wheel drive vehicle is being investigated according to Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said when contacted by reporters.
He said, if convicted, the driver could be fined between RM20,000 and RM50,000, and jailed for between five and 10 years.
